  1. I agree. This is a complete hoax cooked up by a Vast Left Wing Conspiracy. You can tell because the city bent over backwards to grant the developers a TIRZ. As we can now all see, the city has been completely overtaken by Baby Killing Gay Homosexual TIRZ Granting Liberals.

Gee whiz, LTAWACS, I assumed your AWAC had that all figured out-or not.

    B)

[bTW, this thing is going to be built :) ]

I was in Lufkin this weekend for a wedding and I was talking to one of the guest. He stopped me and asked me if they had broken ground yet I said to what he said the pavilions downtown. He is all excited about that and cant wait for it to be built. He tells me that his family drives down to Houston's Galleria for Xmas shopping, and that his family has been doing so since the early part of the last century. Of course they have not shopped downtown for some time now and if this project gets built the tradition of shopping in houston downtown will finally continue. He thinks this project is wonderful.

Of course, I must explain he is the exception, for his family has been part of Lufkins well to do for many years. For those of you who don't know Lufkin is a small city of about 35,000 in its city limits and the area although a little depressed by the exciting of Lufkin Industries the town has all the typical shoppes you can find in the Houston area.

  2. According to the web site the Village at Katy is strategically located 29 miles west of Houston on

I-10, between US 90 and Pin Oak Road. Across from the Katy Mills Mall.

The Village at Katy has been master planned to integrate the various aspects of life and force creative intersections between them. Life is simplified by pedestrian and vehicular access to all points of the development.

  3. What's with this "obsession" with passing Chicago in population? Say we wake up tomorrow and the NYT reports "Houston surpasses Chicago in population," then what?

:( So being number one at any thing is not good?

I would hope one day there wont be a USA There will be the United States of North America and Mexico city that dirty old place surpasses New York as the largest city in the U.S. of N.A.

Lighten up it is not a complex or an obsession it is a discussion on what will likely happen

A cities vitality and healthy urban atmosphere is 10 times more important then bragging rights in population. Look at a San Francisco or Boston, two cities who have nothing to prove in the population category (city wise) and they're respectively a couple of the most dynamic urban centers in the U.S. Enough with Houston trying to polish it's image nationally, you first have to showcase your city locally and start some kind of critical mass in the central area.

But I totally agree with you on this part of your comment

  4. My wife keeps asking me what I want for Christmas. The answer is: I don't know. I used to be all hot on the iPod nano, but not so much anymore. I'd like a really expensive pair of shoes, but she doesn't think I'm serious. What are your Christmas wishes, and do you have any suggestions for me?

know you may not want this for Christmas but I do

Oh yeah and a 72" plasma TV

  5. Horton Plaza was a WONDERFUL start for the revitalization of downtown San Diego...which has come full circle and keeps going like gang busters!!!

It was however a very slow start. But they remained focused and got the Gaslamp going, And then Little Italy, marina, and now the East village.

Thank you! So the point is y'all the Houston Pavilions will have a slow start. We must remain focused, and get the east end of downtown redeveloped, and the south of downtown area not Midtown. OR please don't call that area SODO. But with a development like this Houston's downtown will flourish, and patience is a virtue.

  6. Yeah, I think thats it. Looks pretty familiar.

I can't recall the name, but all I remember that Pepsi was one of the sponsors or they did a cross promotional with the park much like Coka-Cola used to do with AstroWorld

That water park look like it is new? I have not beeen in that area for a few years now. I think it has been about 7 years.

  7. Ok, I remember along time ago I went to this indoor fun place with my family. It had laser tag (i think), a carousel, arcade games and alot of other stuff. Does anyone know what im talking about? Sorry I couldnt provide more details as I barely remember.

  8. Yeah as red said that is completely wrong. But just wondering were you thinking it was the actual census in 2000 or one of the more recent estimates.

I don't know I heard it on CNN sometime earlier this year or last. It just goes to show you can't believe everything on TV. It must have been an estimation stated as fact.

That darn left wing media*eelimon waives his fist in the air*
