Uhhhh.....no The only other comptetition is houston.....And I think we are alittle ahead inthe Urban Department.

I wouldnt go as far as to say nowhere near .....I am a proud proud dallasite...and I think houston's downtown does have a somewhat bigger and faster pace about it......but at the same time I think the overall feel of DtD is more inviting and pleasent to the eye......it almost makes up for it not being full of people bustling around.....and...don't get me wrong....I feel; that Dallas is spearheading in the direction to become the most energetic, surprising and shockingly attractive CBD's in the state.........Its just too much stuff in the pipeline.......Its like ...all of the peices to the puzzle have just arrived...and now were in the process of unwrapping the plastic and putting everything together to create the big picture........."THE ABSOLUTE BEST URBAN EXPERIENCE IN THE SOUTH"......IMO

I don't think we have to try any more.....I think we arrived in 78 with the reunion tower arrival.......We are just perfecting the style.

As we all know....Texas is a car friendly state........it is not in our culture to take advantage of mass transit because we all LOOOOOve our cars......However.....again......Dallasites ARE catching on....moreso than when we first got the train.....so thats why it hasn't really helped in the past...Now push has came to shove and people are REALLY looking for alternatives for all of the parkinglots we call freeways here in North Texas.

Yes.....We still have traffic...Every big city does and will for a long time.....However......Since our traffic Has been a little worse in the last year or so....Dallasites are really catching on to the train thing.....The trains are PACKED to capacity every morning and evening to the point where its almost un safe.......Dart is now adding longer and more frequent service to accomodate this surge in ridership...........so eventually it will help with the traffic if all of these people are waking up to mass transit.........Im pretty sure Houston Trains ar busy also......and.......they could be even more effective if the system actually went somewhere....my two pennies....

I doubt it....TO ME....Houston has more attractive trains on their light rail system....BUT.......As far as the system itself.......it seems a bit threw together.......not planned tht well.....dosent serve enough people & neigborhoods....its more like an attraction...like a monorail at the zoo or something...I don't know......And since its not planned very well...it makes it seem that Houston dosent have a vision..or "BIG" picture to focus on when it comes to light rail...so...that makes federal funding harder to come by....Ft. worth on the other hand.....Will be joined at the seam with DART....so it makes it a more attractive investment.....THIS IS WHAT I THINK>>>>>>>>>not a debate starter...thnx in advance

Ive always notice houston winning over Dallas in alot of stuff so that trend is not new.....I think its becoming more equal now.

ok....let me get this right Houstonians..............when dallas announces the arival of an inlan PORT ....we get this huge thread with thousands of post telling us how stupid it is to name it a "PORT" because of the lack of water oh ...and how we are trying to mislead the world and trick them into thinking that dallas has a nvigable river with a ship channel......but.....when Ft.worth....wich is only a merely 30 miles west of dallas and sits on the same "DITCH" of a river called the trinity....announces the same Identical project.............its suddenly the best idea in the world and its so great...not arguing thats its a great project but what happened to all the BS that came with the dallas port? Why don't the same antics apply to Ft. Worth ?Why was it oly bad when we came up with the Idea?...I don't understand you guys!!!!!!!!!

So if you feel like there isn't enough high-end condo's to go around....then why would you question the Dallas market before you posted this satement?....And the atlanta comment contridicts the first part of your statement...so that's why I commented to you posting this because you didn't know what stance to take ....and like I said earlier....for you to be one who downplays everything dallas announces...what would make you so ecited to post about this.....It is a nice tower........but since this is somewhat out of your character it just made me wonder....So mods thanks again

okay....u started the thread....So why didn't you post your concerne when u first started it?....It seems like u posted and waited for negative responses and then you added your skeptisism of the project........I dunno it just seems kinda weird......And you are normally the person who has something to go against the Dallas grain.......so thats another reason it seems funny that you would start this thread......But it WILL get built ............just watch! oh please!!!
