  1. Wow...................You are talented!!!! .......and boring
  2. Ok....is it the Gallaria district? What do yall call it? How may UPSCALE stores are outside of the Galleria?Better yet...put it like this...If the Galleria was not there, Would it still be considered an UPSCALE shopping DISTRICT?
  3. First off I don't think Houston should even be included in this short list you have created. The above cities you named all have upscale shopping DISTRICTS, Houston only has a shopping MALL(Galleria). Yes I agree with you , Dallas upscale shopping is somewhat spread out.........But I think that is a plus simply because when people shop in Dallas (Visistors and Locals) They have the luxury of entering and experiencing different atmospheres, different energy's, different attractions, all in different UPSCALE venues....In Houston all yo have is the galleria......Yeah it's a Huge mall but once you visit it(shoppers) You won't have to for a looooong time because you(the shopper) will see everything Houston Has to offer all in 30 minutes. The Houston Galleria is a Great mall and I do like it better than "Galleria Dallas", but at the same time Galleria dallas is just one single selection of the many to choose from for a great evening of upscale shopping. Another reason I think being spread out is better is because people like Choices. Some days people might not want to deal with a big busy mall like the Houston Galleria, now what are they to do? In dallas you would just go down the road to a more intimate setting like Hiland Park Village or any other open air upscale center. It's all about diversity. It's better to offer the public many choices for a shopping evenig that way it makes it just that much easier to please evrybody at every age when they Visit Dallas!
  4. Ok Yadda Yadda Yadda........If I took a trip tomorrow to the woodlands and then back to Dallas...Yes...I would say I went to Houston.Come on guys we've been through this a million times. They are included with dallas because of commute patterns.
  5. Ok willy......That's just like saying the city of Dallas' population would catch up with Houston's poulation which is about double the size. If someone said this to you would you believe it?..No. While it is possible for this to happen, I really think it would take way more than 20 yrs. Yes Ft. Worth is growing @ a fast rate, and it probably is possible for Ft. worth to surpass dallas' population, but for that to happen dallas' stats would have to stay the same, not gainig any residences for a 20 yr. stretch.........And that's not the like of Dallas to sit still. In fact..in 20 years Dallas will be huge!!!!
  6. When Did Glass And glitter become a bad thing? I think that Ft. Worth has preserved and restored enough old garrages. I think it is time to start Proposing more edgy ,daring projects for this is the only true way to grow up as a city. Not saying that Ft. Worth is not established but It could use a bit more BIG BOY stuff to really be able to compare itself to it's fellow big brothers(Houston & Dallas). Put it this way ....Yah Ft. Worth's downtown is 100% leased and yadda yadda yadda. But they only have about three sky scrapers. Who couldn't fill Three skyscrapers to the max? And then the three that they do have are all under 30 stories.
  7. Then you must hate the Concorde apartments Down there then.
  8. Midtowncoog Quote:(I used to work on Denton Drive. Did lunch at Hunky's, hit the card shop, Union Station after work, etc. ") How long ago was this. Did you enjoy it or not? It must have been in the 80"s because Union station is not a typical hang out.
  9. Quote:("I much prefer the grittyness of Montrose") Is that just because you are from Houston or u really copared the two destinations.? I think Montrose could become a successfull district if the just go ahead an put some planning into it and concentrate more on a pedestrian enviromen(like Oak Lawn)it would be just as or even more affluent than oaklawn.Don't get me wrong....I can point out a million things that could be better in the Oak llawn district but it seems to be on the right tract for the future. However I do think that Houston's JR's Blows Dallas's away and I live here in Dallas. And over-all I think Houston will be just fine.......I'll visit anytime.
  10. Ok........Honestly....How many of u houstonians would go see it? I think quite a few of u would, just out of curiosity. Or just to have another detailed reason to say it was a bad Idea.
  11. So do you think this will be used as a marketing trick to uproot the previous stereotypical plague that's been lingering over the dallas area since the 80's tv show? I think it would be really cool If they did. This gives us a chance to update the images that pop up in peoples minds when they hear about Dallas. QWe could really take advantage of this to show some of the newer modern projects and districts that now exist that we didn't have in the 80's. what do you guys in here think?
  12. West Grey Guy...U are Halarious!!!The montrose neighborhood Is far more creepy than Oak Lawn. Now don't get me wrong The crime statistics may not say the same but as far as feeling safe ...I have to go with Oak Lawn. Houstonians refer to this area as an area comparable to oak lawn but it is not as weel planned and concentrated as the oak Lawn area and it is not as affluent. I did have a great time at "Bartini's" but West Grey I'll walk alone in Oak Lawn at4am fast befor montrose....Sorry!!!
  13. I visited houston last weekend and I loved it.As far as it looking newer than Dallas I would have to say Yes and no. The reason I say yes is because I noticed that houston has alot of projects in the works and when they are complete it will feel newer. But on the other hand I would have to agree with the fact that with all of the new things going on down there being spread out it's somewhat a little harder to get the full feel of being a newer city.Dallas Presents this new feel a little easier because the areas that are considered newer in dallas are bigger, therefore you feel like you are in a whole new city when you visit these areas. And the fact that they are closer to each other it makes the city newer as a whole...............Both cities are Great IMO.Just two different feels.
