I find it amusing that people continue to exit Studewood only to be forced right back onto I-10.

Great philosophical question. The answer is you don't get there in X-1 minute, you get there in X. Because of the stupid and selfish people that use the frontage road as a shortcut, traffic is backed up more (from merging vehicles) and those that stay on get there in X+1 minute. Those that take the short-cut get there in X. Why go for X+1 instead of X? Because I am not stupid and selfish.

I've saved 10 mins on a trip to Dickinson in rush hour from Houston using the leap frog on the frontage road method. Me and another car left our departure location at the same time. They stayed on the mainlanes and arrived 10 mins later. Plus, with the way that most of Houston's freeways are now designed since the 80s, onramps and offramps don't require you to merge with mainlanes as you enter and exit. There are C/D lanes. You'll have to find another scapegoat, frontage road ...
