This also encompasses the notorious booby trapped and guarded homeless fort in the woods.
wouldn't consider this site the middle of nowhere though. It is ideal for such an endeavor. Close to TMC. Close to 610. Close to 90. Close to light rail. Convenient to 288.

Look at all that other room for development.
Twisty Tower and Museo would be a good start!

I would concur that paying more for a few quality fashion pieces is better than paying a lot for Walmart pieces
Why settle for either extreme?
The models in all the adds at ROD will look better in a $200 suit from the Men's Warehouse than most consumers will look in a really expensive suit from ROD.
No reason to cheap out at walmart or overspend at ROD. plenty of quality can be found in the middle ground.
But $200 tee shirts and $300 jeans is just silly. looking at you vince.

Why "European aesthetics with rustic Hill Country elements"? I guess Houston has no discernable architectural style
Of course Houston has a discernible architectural style. It's called Hodge-Podge.

Isn't 4820 the address for the oaks? Hope they use a different design for the Ridge and the Park.

The cube to the bottom right? No high rise ?
The cube is probably a placemarker. But the location would match up in this pic (Urbanizer posted a year ago) with the location marked proposed full service hotel

The pictures don't have a proper extension for embedding. You could download the pictures, then upload them here as an attachment in your post.

I just never understood why anyone in Houston would even think about evacuating. People along the coast for sure but not people 50 miles inland. I know people 75 miles away in the Woodlands that left town. I'm sure people were worried about flooding but it doesn't take a hurricane to flood Houston. Did the news media create a mass hysteria or are people just that paranoid?
Bill White scaring people didn't help.
Mr. White and the top official in Harris County, Judge Robert Eckels, admitted that their plans had not anticipated the volume of traffic. They maintained that they had not urged such a widespread evacuation, although only a day earlier they invoked the specter of Hurricane Katrina, and told residents that the "time for waiting was over." -
Ridiculous. How long does it take to bulldoze a hill and lay some new sod?
Additionally, that means that they were counting on not going to the playoffs this year. Unacceptable, they should be trying for playoffs every year.
they are redoing the seating in the area as well. Plus there is an allstar cricket match in November that is disrupting the construction plans.

Only one so far. The northern portion of this project is still a surface parking lot. Will check out how high the southern portion is this weekend.
I don't think the surface parking lot is part of it. Just the block and a half south of the parking lot. bound by Salnier, crosby, Andrews and Heiner. The parking lot just south of Dallas was the rumored Drake apartments that never were mentioned again after the one blurb that first mentioned them.

307-Acres Near NRG Stadium (Formerly UT Research Campus Proposal)

The edge of the property is less than a mile from the rail line. there are now buses on this part of Bellfort and as was pointed out earlier the metro rail test line runs along the southern edge of the property and could in theory be utilized for the site.
