San Felipe and Braeswood are good examples of this. On Braeswood some driveways are pull in/back out, and people are driving 50mph passed the houses. I've noticed several homes convert to horseshoe shaped driveways.

The 4 guys always sitting on buckets, blocking the sidewalk across Main from the Station, and always fighting with each other need to move on. I bet they move on when construction starts. I also see the same two prostitutes hanging out in front of the station.
We drink beer high on a balcony in 2016 Main. It's better than any movie.

looks like they're getting ready to install an external trash chute?

The bus station would be okay if police would enforce a no loitering policy in the area.

An ocean front office would be cool I suppose.

I like Torchy's, but I'd bet I could name two dozen taco trucks/stands with better tacos.
I will be making the trip out to see what MOD pizza is about. I like this from their website:
What would happen if they allowed customers to choose exactly what they wanted without charging more- 1

That's beautiful but I honestly don't even remember what they really looked like. This definitely isn't anything that I would imagine had been there.
As i recall, it was just the light on the arch (the red light in the pic) that lit up. The color changed slowly (like the Memorial Hermann Tower). The orange criss-crossing beams in the pic did not light up, at least not that I ever noticed.

The hodgepodge of big box and strip mall that replaced Gulfgate seems to be a success. Very crowded every time a visit the last Doneraki standing.

According to this chron article from March 2008, the Endeavor was the first of many high rises for Clear Lake.
It also mentions Beacon Island.

Can we please finally address evaluating the options of an overpass/underpass of the railroad tracks that cross Bellaire just down the block from this site? I can tell you getting stuck by 1-2 passing trains at a time at different hours of the day (including rush hour) sucks and causes major backups up and down the street as a result. We live in the middle of a growing city that is continuing to add more density and people to the middle of the city. Having freight tracks intersecting many major thoroughfares (Beechnut, Bellaire, Bissonnet, Richmond, Westheimer) right though the middle of the city must be costing much more than just a few headaches from drivers in traffic - there must be some severe railroad schedule limitations for freight moving through that corridor as well.
you should add Bellfort and 610 feeder road. i hate that train.

I feel like Agent Smith from The Matrix Reloaded: "More....". I would be disappointed to lose the Palace Lanes to a Trader Joes though (if there is substance to that part of the Swamplot article).
Couldn't agree more. There is nowhere else to bowl in this part of town.

Dang. Where will I go for my Black Eyed Pea fix? Seriously. Anybody?
NM Google solved my problem. Just have to drive further.

If you go to the link, you can read a portion of the description but somehow it doesn't let you read on.
If you view the page source you can read the rest.
The end of the last sentence is
fire pit, lounge area, and swimming pool are located.
