Depends, usually stop around 11 or 12, but I have stayed on till 3 or 4 if I am doing something else at the same time.
EDIT: montrose are the times still ahead for you? They are fine for me, in your profile is it set to central ST?
-
Probibly figured that since there were 4 already, would it hurt to just have 3?
And while were Nit-pickin', why are there skyscrapers on the right in the far off distance? It looks like a Downtown.
It seems like they just forgot which way they were oriented.
EDIT: On second thought, the building on the left looks like the one right off 59 in greenway. But the rest seem to tall.
-
Hes probibly talking about the roof height, not including the Spire or Glass Top of the BoA in Atlanta.
US Bank tower doesn't have a spire.
-
US Bank Tower is in 13th Place
JPMorganChase Tower is in 14th Place
Bank of America Plaza 21st Place
I don't understand that part.
the JP Morgan Chase tower is taller than that building.
What do u think
I don't have time to answe the rest, but where do you get that chase is taller. It is 5 meters shorter.

Isn't the significance of the waterwall is for all the toilets to be able to flush properly in the old Transco Tower ? For some reason I recall hearing that was what the function of that waterwall is all about. Please correct me if I'm wrong. History has shown I usually am.
Ummm...suuure
Where did you hear this?

Was it stopped or just cut back? It turned out it was going to cost something like twice the original estimate.
I am pretty sure I read that it had been cut back, and now it has been completely cancelled. I may look for some more info tomorrow.

If they could just keep them up and clean them now and then, I think you'd hear less people gripe about them.
I don't know about that, just listen to what people are saying about something that will get rid of a surface parking lot and add street level retail.

Seattle's was just built for the World's Fair... Which, like Houston saw Freeways, as Transportation of the future.
Seattle had plans to extend it. I can't remember how much, but it was alot (I want to say $12,000,000,000 but I am not totally sure). But the citizens recentally voted to stop it.

Well, would you rather spend 100s of millions on expanding the streets, buying out the business along the street to be demolished, just to get a few extra lanes? Or would you just rather go underground and not hurt anyone?
I was being sarcastic about using busses instead of rail. I only said that because WG we shouldn't spend more on a subway compared to light rail. (Unless you were talking to him)
-
As west was saying the densest area is the area surrounding the southwest freeway midway between the loop and the belt. I believe the densest zip code is 77081. I did this research a while ago, and this is from memory, but I am pretty sure it is that one.

Well I will start of with $1,000, can you give me an estiment of how long that will take to dubble?
Really depends on what you invest in. Also don't forget stocks are not a sure fire profit maker. You could lose it.

Where spending hundreds of millions of more dollars just to have the satisfaction of going underground because it feels more urban? Some people need to grow up. At first, I thought some of these ideas were cool but it just sounds childish and stubborn now.Well just some food for thought. Can anyone imagine what Main Street would look like if subway was running underground? Wouldn't be too much of an improvement for the streetscape. The same would be true for the university line. Yes we can live with how it looks now but there is always room for improvement.
Umm, then couldn't the same argument be made against rail in favor of buses? They are much cheaper, but not quite as efficient. But you wouldn't be wasting millions to make it look urban.

.......and to think with all of Dallas' forward thinking and "ZONING", they have failed miserably. Let the beatings..........begiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinnnnnnnnn !
From this point on, Dallas-FW, will now be known as Sprawllas-FW.
Ok, lets try and keep one thread that mentions dallas open.

I still think a subway or a monorail is not a bad idea. I think some of you are a little hard on Citykid09 when he posts pictures just displaying ideas that have worked in other cities and how it could work in Houston. If subway is a bad idea, then why not monorail? WesternGulf, you mentioned Seattle and they at least have monorail, which is another option from street level! I'm sorry but streetlevel rail will not solve the problem of traffic and mobility that currently exists in this city.
BTW the Seattle monorail was canceled, not to mention I believe it was ridiculously expensive also. When you spend that much you might as well get something that doesn't mess with the street scape.
i was just in mexico city, and we take the subway to get downtown from the airport. it took an hour to go 12km, which was annoying. but i asked around, and they said it would have taken 1.5 hours by taxi, and we spent $0.20 rather then $30. so it made sense.i would prefer elevated in downtown and other dense areas towards the galleria, and dedicated surface otherwise.
Why elevated in dense areas? Do you want streets to darkened because of both lines and stations covering the street? I may exagerate a little, but with a subway all of that is underground with only an entrance on the street. For somewhat similar prices I hope that Houston would choose a subway over monorail.
-
They are going to build the momo-rail in the galleria area. I think down post oak. I was able to view some of the mono-rails future plans on the main Houston Metro site. Pretty Interesting.
Are you sure? I don't believe there are any plans to put monorail down post oak. I do believe BRT will go down it, later to be light rail (I think [about the second thing] but it will be BRT when it opens).

..."I'm Luvin it" (would it kill you to put another "G" on the word.
Well it would still be spelled wrong with the G.

America is getting even more stupid because the overuse of chat room acronyms like LOL, OMG, LMAO, and WTF.
I wouldn't say it is making America stupider, but it is funny when you will hear kids say these acronyms in normal conversation.

By the way, I lived in Boston and Providence, RI for quite a while so I was really spoiled by easy access to most things, either by walking or public transportation. In that part of the world at least public transportation is not a dirty word, as it seems to be here. People definitely need to get out of their cars more.
So why do you live in the woodlands? Or do you just shop out there?

I think in the last census Houston surpassed Chicago in the rankings and Chicago is now the 4th largest and Houston is the 3rd largest city in the US
Yeah as red said that is completely wrong. But just wondering were you thinking it was the actual census in 2000 or one of the more recent estimates.

Great pics. I have seen a few construction pictures of chase before, but all of these were new to me.

Was this parking garage designed by Phillip Johnson by any chance, perhaps along with his design for Penzoil Place and not built until serveral decades later?
I highly doubt it. But I wonder what a parking garage by him would look like.

It is? I went about a year and a half ago. I thought it was really interesting, and I spoke with some of the people there and they said it was expanding. You could also see some of the new buildings they were going to have.
