Can anyone put the picture on here or at least direct me to a link with it?
I don't get the Barnicle.
Let me find it and I will take a picture of it.

The Exxon building would cost more to renovate than for a new building due to abatement. Exxon owns the lot across the street and has a plan to build a new office, and tear down the original Exxon building to make way for a parkign garage. But like I said abatement before demolition would be incredibly costly.
What is your source on this. Despite how I would like a new tower downtown, I hope this does not happen.

As far as I know he decided against Pearland, not Sugar Land.So I think we have pretty much ruled out Sugar Land as well as FM1960 area on that basis.
Also what part of town do you commute to? Sorry if you mentioned this, but I skimmed your posts and don't think you mentioned it.

Sad that his last work has to be so bland. But hopefully the rendering doesn't do it justice. The original glass house from 1949 looks much nicer.
Edit: looks like me and you were thinking the same thing at the same time.

ENGcons, could you give us any more info on Manhattan, the new general contractor. As you could probably guess searches don't exactly turn up the right results.

Rock on Houston Astros

I will just copy a post of mine from another thread.
"Umm no, the current rail line is going to stay, and future rail lines will have rails installed and covered. BRT will ride on the path (somewhat similar to LRT, slightly reduced capacity, and still technically a bus). When ridership demands it, the lines will be uncovered, overhead wires put in, and trains will ride on the tracks. This was done to speed up construction of the lines. Oh and I almost forgot to mention the line from UH to uptown will be LRT."
If you want more info read the Bill White changes rail plan thread. (it is something like that)

So what makes these different from apartment complexes we currently have.

Just ignore AWACS, he does not know what he is talking about.
Also city kid, those pictures are for the site of boulevard place. That is in uptown, no where near the proposed pavillions site.

I hope that BRT map isn't it.
Which BRT map, and what do you hope it isn't?
-
Hold on, is this thread about Houston's perception to others in all facets, or just our perception to those who like modern architecture?
-
No, the city of Dallas has lost population.
So looking at the numbers red posted, I assume this is just a typo.

But i could swear I heard they were replacing the rail lines with buses....

Sim City 4?
Is that an actual rendering?

Don't listen to him Nothing but me and my Cadillac, some people care more about the size of their house than where they live.

Could you tell us more about the projects? For example I have not heard anything about that 70 story one on the left.
-
Check it now. No more dates (2006-2010).

Sounds like the same cookie cutter crap that you find in other pseudo developments. Nothing new, exciting or unique.
Umm, why are you judging it on a post 5 months ago? A list of expected tenants has been posted. Why don't you check that out instead of going by old news from a poster who was banned.

On Skyscraper page is says "fantasy" but has construction dates.
No mention of it on google either.
I could delete those if it would make you feel better.

maybe it's man's fault we have thse storms like these back to back. global warming. That isn't God's doing. It's ours.
Hardly, the earth has warmed and cooled many times throughout history. The question is how much impact we have had on it.
