skwatra
the astros are now 0.500 overall with a record of 3507-3507! last time theywere 0.500 was in 1962 when they had a record of 6-6... fittingly, theybeat the brewers to get 0.500 last night and it was to the brewers thatthey lost it in 1962. I'm going to the game tonight... and since I'm from Wisconsin, here's hoping the Brewers drop the Astros below .500 again. But seriously, the first two games of the series have been very entertaining. High scoring one-run games both won by Houston. This will be first game of the year for me. I'm hoping the roof will be open since the way the Houston weather is heading the last couple of days, it'll be closed for the rest of the year soon. brijonmang
well the fire that is the astros is cooling down...but im not worried about that, streaks come and go. i am scared with lidge. 3 blown saves, and getting base runners on in all but 1 of his save opportunities is not a good sign. he wasnt sharp in the playoffs and its carried into this season. he seems to really be struggling with command and his 'stuff'. i only hope he can get back on top of his game and start intimidating hitters, because, right now, he looks like fresh meat.
KimberlySayWhat
They could have won Friday, but then Lidge came in. I'd hate to be him right now.

HoustonianInColorado
Alrighty sports fans... Here are just a handful of the shots I took last night at Coors Field, where the Astros were sadly shutout by the Colorado Rockies. Lance Berkman at bat Choo Freeman safe at second base Clint Barmes scores a run for the Rockies Chris Burke with dislocated shoulder is escorted from the field after hitting the backfield wall during a great catch! HoustonianInColorado
Good seats, or a long lens? Definately looks like something bigger than 200mm.A combination of the two. We definitely had terrific seats, a few rows up behind the Astros dugout. I also used my Olympus E-500 digital and the Olympus Zuiko 40-150mm digital zoom lens. With the 2x magnification factor on this camera, that is the equivalent of 300mm lens on a 35mm film camera. The fact that I was holding the camera in my hands is why there is a little blur on some of the long shots. Plus, a couple of these I cropped before reducing the size for the web. Gary
anyone know how to find out if Bonds is going to be in the lineup tonight? mlb.com and the papers seem to be unsure for now.For me it doesn't matter as his breaking of the Babe's record means very little. KimberlySayWhat
Are the Astros nervous right now because of the whole Bonds thing, because it's been painful to watch them this week.
hokieone
Thought this was pretty funny. I don't get riled up about these articles anymore, because they are all so generic, but after Springer plunked Bonds and the fans cheered, this guy felt compelled to write this article...SF Gate Writer On Houston
Jeebus
Jeez. Aparently this guy takes 1. himself too seriously, and 2. the game too seriously. Of course notice that he's a local San Fran writer. He's just bitter. Too bad its only a game. All you have to do to bring guys like this down to Earth, is ask him: "If Houston really is the pit you describe it as, then why are thousands of people still moving here every year?" Unfortunatly I havn't been able to view any of the games, so I really can't say what their problem might of been.
