  1. And here's the street view of the Westheimer/610 location. Roof changed, but those stone pillars are still there: https://goo.gl/maps/VZLfu7Yr8qB2
  2. Wow...thanks for pointing that out!
  3. And here's the thread about the one verified by SpaceGhost on Crosstimbers: http://www.houstonarchitecture.com/haif/topic/32917-hungry-farmer-e-crosstimbers/
  4. There was one at Richmond and Chimney Rock - it's a Title Max now: https://goo.gl/maps/f9WAYyJjQJ52 and an employment advertisement for it from the April 20, 1977 issue of the Bellaire Texan:
  5. Some Swamplot coverage: http://swamplot.com/excavators-finally-come-for-the-oft-rejected-hogan-allnoch-building-downtown/2015-12-11/
  6. Yep, permit issued...too bad it couldn't be used. That whole part of Texas is sure different these days. This was one of my favorite pictures, Hogan-Allnoch in the lower corner, from the roof of the William Penn Hotel:
  7. Bumping this because I'm curious too - I have a page waiting for the Hungry Farmer on Crosstimbers but I'm having a difficult time finding out what was originally there from about 1969 (when it was built) to 1975 (when Hungry Farmer was there).
  8. Well, not much was going on there last time I went by (about a month ago). Did the contract fall through?
  9. Was the one you have an address for at or near Memorial City Mall?
  10. It looks like the Lake Jackson Shipley's on Dixie Dr. was converted (built in 1965).
  11. That's the old Waddell's warehouse - an old time Houston store: http://arch-ive.org/archive/waddells-furniture-warehouse/
  12. Oooooh I'm looking forward to your turquoise post!!!
  13. Great news! I have some pictures of it (interior and exterior) from about 2009 that I'll get around to posting soon!
  14. Wow - a lot were taken over by Popeye's..
  15. This just in - "Villas at Westbury Square" development - "A vibrant new development with Old World Class and Charm." No address, but it makes sense.. http://villasatwestburysquare.com/
  16. There were some recent permits issued like HVAC revision on January 8 and electrical plan check and general repairs in December. Maybe there have been some issues that caused some delay/changes.
  17. Interesting, I was looking for information on Magnolia Macaroni/Vincenzo (aka Charles) Lucia and ended up at this ancient post! His macaroni factory was on W. Dallas (San Felipe back then) and House St. - House St. is now about where the parking lot is just east of I-45 along Dallas - it was two blocks east of Heiner St. He lived almost next door to the factory at the west corner of the block. He died in 1927 but Magnolia kept on until about the early 1950s - shortly thereafter the factory was demolished and Magnolia and anything about it pretty much disappeared as far as I can tell.
  18. David Weekley (of Weekley home) purchased this after Dr. Kelsey's (of Kelsey-Seybold) death and has purchased a demolition permit. Built in 1956, designed by Wilson, Morris, Crain, & Anderson: http://swamplot.com/weekley-buys-dr-seybolds-1956-mid-century-mod-home-demo-permit-filed/2014-12-02/
  19. I went and looked today - I think I'll sleep in Sunday.
  20. Well, it's that time of year: http://blogs.houstonpress.com/news/2014/10/the_girl_on_the_torture_board_rhonda_williams_opens_up_for_the_first_time_about_dean_corll.php
  21. Does anyone have a quick link to the most recent rendering released? Is it supposed to be flat glass all the way up?
