    Human cow paths should be paved. 🙂 This includes the giant divots truck drivers make on right turns. Sharp curbs in retrofitted car lanes adjacent to bike lanes and sidewalks are bad civic planning.

    It gets dusty there when the wind kicks up from the Cemex mixing plant. It's kinda gross. That's the only issue there. Also the bike path terminates on that property.

    The skeptical part in me sees the city's handling of these assets over the years and thinks it's a form of money laundering or corruption.

    All architectural brick accents in intersections and roads are a bad idea in Houston. The soil plus the climate makes mother nature chew shit up here. Those accents on Harrisburg already have potholes (speed bumps.) Washington roundabout is an amusement park ride and should charge admission.

    My guess is the developer is going to reuse that part of the warehouse that was saved. Either they have a client in mind or is marketing it as a selling feature. It looks over-engineered with those massive steel trusses not to mention the ceiling clearance is somewhere around 70'

    Theres a "future home of 7eleven" sign on the corner of 45 and Cullen. The stop n go curse has been lifted from Houston. Citizens will be free to enjoy slurpees soon again. XD

    Hey HAIF, I live in Eastwood and have skimmed some of the above posts. I believe I have some opinions regarding some of the things said on the streets and traffic. Firstly, Mckinney @ Cullen is good the way it is and I think they made the right choice making it a 2 way stop. It just takes a few more seconds than a normal intersection to make sure it is safe to go. I use this intersection all the time and lived here before, during and after the change and at first it was jarring but quickly got used to it. Be safe! That said, if they do cut off the Milby/ Mckinney RR crossing, then they should make Cullen/ Mckinney a 4 way stop. The thru traffic restriction on Mckinney east of Lockwood is a huge success IMO. The same cannot be said on the thru closure on Dumble between Harrisburg and Polk. Dumble is too vital, it's a railroad crossing and logistically a essential road. There are two high schools across Polk. I imagine implementing this during the school year would affect a lot of people negatively.

    Architect does not want inhabitants drenched with rain but to get misted hard when windy is ok.

    The northern enclosed sidewalk on block 43 is starting to noticeably settle towards the pit. The Chronicle's pit across the street is probably a factor.

    Yes, Telephone begins in Eastwood off Mc Kinney street. That is one light away from Harrisburg. The Broadway what you are talking about is what Leeland street turns into.

    One thing I would be okay with is large reprographics on the building. Los Angeles has a lot of this visual pollution but I find it more tasteful than billboards. I know there is a ban on ads like this inside city limits, but a small amount by this venue could make an edifice more attractive if done tastefully. Oh, you spelled Lastros wrong, lol.

    Two things that really piss me off about the project. The faux cornice will diminish downtown views from the ballpark. Architects could have and still can omit the roofline elements and preserve the line of sight aesthetic. I am not talking about the whole building, just across the street from the ballpark! There will be no rooftop seating to watch the game from across the street like at Wrigley Field. This is one perfect example of why Houston sucks. A missed opportunity of making something quirky, unique and fun like in Chicago. Even if it is a bad idea, ambiance and cheap beer would make up for it. City hall can get anything done in this city. It would be one more gimmick, one more selling point to attract business and residents downtown. Something going across the street from one of the crown jewels in Houston screams "cheap" compared to what developers would implement in other cities.I am sorry for being a Debbie Downer guys and I know how most of you like to stay positive in this forum, but I just had to get this off my chest.

    Houston really gets passed over in music and art compared to other places. Talented people are from here but they migrate elsewhere. Police in this city along with the county court system are not at all nice to artists or musicians involved with any counter culture or sub culture. There will never be any kind of real art or music scene ever in this city in the foreseeable future. Houston is also too far spread out so events are often a bust.

    There is a bar on the northern block there. Progress is progress. So long quirky, dive bar I shall not name. I'll miss you too street parking (which is awesome in that area.)

    At least it breaks the mold of the for profit driven aesthetic in architecture that has been plaguing Houston lately. Any scaled version of a famous landmark in Houston would fit in with its international feel. The only place this "cartoonish" Eiffel replica would be more suited would be on top of the future Chevron tower.

    My only real gripe about most new construction in Houston is the lack of flair. I want to see less function and more form. Where is the drive in these architects? Houston's "style" of architecture is for profit and cheap. You guys know what I mean?

    Yes. Nothing better than looking at super bright, freshly poured concrete on a sunny summer day (with no sunglasses.) It is quite the challenge!

    Most important part of that rendering for City Center is the parking garage. Looks like 9 levels of parking at that!
