  1. No...Jesus said we will all be judged one day for all of our sins. Putting this guy's execution on Pay-Per-View....what an ignorant comment. Sure, he committed the crime and paid his dues. His death was actually more humane than that of the girls they killed. I'm sure the parents will rest easy now...one more to go and then what....they'll have peace? It'll bring their daughter's back? Quote: This crime was by far one of the most if not worst ever in our city. I don't agree with you.......Andrea Yates. She killed 5 innocent babies that never had the chance to defend themselves from the person who should have protected them the most. Why is this scumbag and her spineless husband still stealing my oxygen???? Oh, I forgot, she's white.
  2. Good bye Country Chicken Salad! I guess they just lost their appeal...I hadn't eaten there in about 10 years?
  3. Bonanza on Kuykendahl @ FM 1960, a western steak style restaurant my family and I would frequent during 1978-1979
  4. I went to Arnold Jr. High in 1983 and remember the hysteria hitting the CyFair community then too. My parents still made me go to school, despite the rumor that some gang called The Smurfs was going to decapitate kids at any given school. I know it sounds silly now...but today our reality is that kids really do kill kids in schools....they don't have to call themselves "smurfs" or be affiliated with any gang to do it either. Sick. And sad.
  5. I remember picking up a Panjo's pizza in Champions after skating at Champion's Roller Rink in 1978. Great pizza!
  6. I just have a dislike for malls. And snobs. Sorry, HOUSTONMACBRO...didn't mean to come off sounding like a snob. Just posting my thoughts on how much Willowbrook and the area has changed for me.
  7. I was always told by my family members that it was a "penthouse"?? But whoever or whatever lives there has never remodeled the place and it's kind of an eyesore now. If anyone finds out, it'd be interesting to hear about it!
  8. I'm originally from Northside..off Cavalcade, but have called Cypress home since 1977. The Cy-Fair area has grown tremendously since then and is off 290 going north of downtown Houston.
  9. The Fairfield Outlet Mall is complete and pretty nice.....not pricewise, but you can still find some good stuff there if you are into designer and don't want to deal with Katy Mills or Willowbrook. Coach, Nike, you name it. They have a nice selection there.
  10. Bummer......I remember Mervyn's for back to school time in the 80s!
  11. Mmmmm...I remember when the only thing opened at Willowbrook Mall was a Montgomery Wards store and IT WAS NICE!!! That was back around 1982/83? I no longer shop at Willowbrook though, it's too full of crime and thugish looking people. It'd be nice if they stepped it up but I don't think putting more posh stores are going to change the clientele that lives in the surrounding area around Bltwy 8.
  12. Wow..glad I found this site. I was a week old when Joan R. Hill's funeral was being held. As a native Houstonian, the story holds significance to me, because my mother shared it with me, as I was growing up. I loved the book "Blood And Money" and have driven past the homes lived in by the families, several times. The home that belonged to Ash has changed the most, outwardly. I can't imagine what spirits lurk in those homes. I have also found that most Houstonians were very closed mouthed about this case. In the late 60s...this case was big like O.J.'s was later on. But people didn't talk about things like this. I also always believed that John killed his wife, and that big poppa took care of things. I feel for Robert, their son "Boots" and read in some article that he was doing well as an adult and totally deserves his privacy. Can't imagine what his life was like. I hope he has found peace. Joan is buried in the same cemetary as my own brother. Houston sure has changed in the last 10 years....so it's NOTHING like it was 38 years ago.
