  1. Cherry Coke Zero...converted a diehard Diet Dr Pepper drinker...CCZ only now.
  2. Andrea PIA Yates should be roasting in hell right now....but at least Medellin is there and justice was served. Maybe these damned illegal aliens will think twice about committing such an attrocity in the future! Medellin shouldn't have been here to begin with! That's the big white elephant in the room that nobody wants to talk about. Yes, I am for shipping em out and building a wall to rival the Great Wall of China! And I'm proud of it!
  3. I just don't like that style of architecture...not sure what you guys call it -- but all these crap buildings with the curved rooftops with pastel colors and chrome is just going to scream "late 1990's, early 2000's" in a few years. I see it in schools, skyscrapers...lofts...you name it. Well, I'll name it: UGLY. There's nothing timeless or aesthetically appealing about this style. It's butt-ugly. And I don't know what possesses these architects to copy each other and reuse this style over and over in this city. It's gross!
  4. Did any of you see the story on Ch 13 today about the clown who went to the shelter in Humble (he was the ONLY one!)?
  5. LOL!!!! Yeah...I saw that too! Some truly "award-winning" reporting there!
  6. To answer the question: Mostly classic rock and alternative bands. I am very faithful to my bands...I don't care if they are considered "old" today or not... I can only stand to listen recent alt rock bands...everything else is lacking.
  7. Yeah, they are really milking this for all its worth! Still, I didn't go to work today...
  8. You obviously never went to Astroworld during its heyday. Guys have always noticed good looking girls (didn't notice many "trashy" ones, BTW) -- unless the guys are gay of course. But, back when Astroworld was truly great -- it was a family place to go that was clean, safe, and FUN. This was certainly the case during the 70's when I used to go there with my friends and family. How does it make one a "loser" to want to have a good time? Explain that one to me...
  9. I don't think I am doing any commuting of any kind. I damned sure am not going to go to where I work only to get stranded trying to get home near Clear Lake... Nah gawna go there...
  10. Damned storms...always ruining perfectly good vacations! I feel your pain, bro...I really do! But, I gotta tell ya -- I'm just glad that this one probably won't be the one to flood everything from Galveston to the 610 Loop with twenty feet of salty H2O!
  11. I think they should paint the sides and back to look like white puffy clouds with a blue sky on a sunny day. Wouldn't that be a hoot? Oh wait...that might make a flight hazzard, huh?
  12. DUDE!!! I remember that place from when I was kid...that place ROCKED!!! Anyway, I am really digging all these great BBQ references from you peeps! I'll have to make a point of trying them all out...over time, of course... I have to watch my boyish figure.
  13. I suffered through a similar workday. I kept telling everyone this isn't going to be anything... But, people seem to enjoy being whipped up into a frenzy... Yeah, I'd like a free day off from work too, but I still say this storm won't be a big deal...
  14. I'll be sure to avoid Kreuz'... I can't imagine Q without sauce. No matter how good the meat, I want da sauce! Too much pepper is not a good thing, I agree! Smitty's was next on my list...I saw that one when I was there in Lockhart. I'll have to give Crosstown BBQ a try for sure!
  15. Also staying put unless this becomes a "Perfect Storm"...
  16. I think I've found BBQ nirvana: Lockhart, Texas! Went to Black's BBQ there last weekend and loved it! This is alledgedly Texas' oldest BBQ restaurant (est. 1932). Black's had great melt in your mouth brisket, all the sides you come to expect from such an establishment, small dining room with bottles of sauce on every table and great home made pies and cobbler. Recommended for those passing through the area -- or looking for a nice weekend outing. I also noticed a couple of other large BBQ palaces that I might try out on subsequent visits (Oh yeah...since I consider myself a BBQ connoseur (sp?) I'll be going back... )
  17. Hero? I don't know... But I DO think he did the RIGHT thing. These guys who were shot were here illegally AND were part of a big drug ring. They had a history of this kind of crime. Chamo's post was right on the money and I am sure he knows what kind of people these were. Horn did the right thing. That's my two cents.
  18. I like Ninos/Vincent's (over on Dallas St., near Allen Pkwy) Consistently good food! http://www.ninos-vincents.com/ Damian's (on Smith St., near downtown) is also excellent. http://www.damians.com/ Collina's is great for pizza.
  19. I'd have to say Burger Chef...The Cellar Door...Shakey's Pizza...Monterrey House...Del Taco...Farrell's Ice Cream Parlor...to name a few.
  20. Yeah, you can live like a king here compared to the cost of living in LA...sounds like a bright dude! May I ask what you do in the music biz? What instrument do you play? Ha! Born in Garland...well, we won't hold that against her...
  21. Do you know Bret Michaels? I got a huge laugh when he said in an episode of Rock of Love that he's "40". 40 my ass... Wow! I didn't know that...interesting! That's wild that he wound up in Spring...what are the odds? Then again, Crystal Bernhard (Wings) grew up there from what I hear... Anyway, back to the concerts topic: How many songs are these bands going to be able to play considering there is "over 100 bands" playing over 4 days...a set of three?
  22. Yes, oil should be cheap and those ingrates in Iraq should be giving us oil at a discount price since our guys are over there dieing to give them democracy. I think cheap/free oil from Iraq should be the payback! Who's with me??
