violetkites
I wonder if anyone knows of someone who has and would rent out a warehouse for a wedding reception. I image there would be some old brick type of warehouses in Houston. Boy I love the character of these type of buildings!I'm looking for something similar to these: http://www.gallery-1028.com/http://venueplease.com/venue/the-green-buildinghttp://www.oldcigarwarehouse.com/
downtownian
I am getting married next summer and have the same question. I am considering the Julia Ideson Library, 5226 Elm and Avant Garden but would like to hear if there is anything else out there. Something similar to this would be perfect: http://wythehotel.com/events/

Tumbleweed_Tx
warehouse live.... or... the Wounded Warrior guys have a small venue on the East End that they are rebuilding- it's an old warehouse with brick walls that they have built a stage onto one end, and there's an out building with facilities that could be used as dressing rooms, etc... contact Paul Delacerda for that one... I'll pm his number upon request

native_Houstonian
What about the Heights Fire House on Yale. It's on the small side, but I think is very reasonable to rent.
brian0123
Majestic Metro is an old movie theater Downtown (big like a warehouse) that has the vibe you're going for. http://majesticmetro.com/weddings.htm

Looks like the rental fees have increased significantly since then, but then again it was (mumble) years ago.

Then a wedding reception last April at Radical Eats with 80 people and a DJ seemed not crowded but charming.
