Vertigo58
When I was working over on 21st street last year I used to cruise around at lunch to gawk at the cool homes in the area. I ran across several townhomes that looked straight out of a postard of Queen Anne/Edwardian homes in San Francisco. No kidding. I know there were several on Oxford street I think? had that neat mansard roof style. Resembled the Munsters house (major cool). I cannot recall where the others were but they were lined up quite nicely with steep descending staircases. Someone had to be quite clever to draw up the plans. I wanted to just go knock on the door and ask but I thought that was a bit much. If anyone can provide info/advice it would be greatly appreciated. I would like to check out any website that showcases homes that are sharp in detail as far as new Victorian/Gothic style homes are concerned. http://brahm.windeler.net/DP20040509_SFHistoricalWalk/Thumbs/P5090046.jpg

I don't know the answer to your question but you may be able to look it up. Go here: http://www.hcad.org/records/real.asp?search=addr and punch in the address, click search, and then on the results page you'll find an ownership history. It may include the builder since there would have been prior records for the property. I've learned to love the HCAD website.
TheNiche
If they're the ones near Shepherd, I think they might've been Perry Homes products. I know that Perry experimented briefly (and surprisingly) along those lines.

Cant really remember but for sure on Oxford. There is new construction going on caddy corner from these. They are complete with cresting & weather vanes, no detail left out. Once is grey/blue and black shingle roof I think, looks kind of like this only newerer: Edited January 19, 2007 by Vertigo58

segovia
Shady Acres (intersection of 23rd and Durham) has some SF styled homes. I have not seen these types of homes in the Heights area (amount of architecture detail). Allegro, compared to Tricon, does more detailed work with their custom homes. Unfortunately, the newer homes off 20th street (near N Shepherd intersection) lack the SF style detail.
Tiko
You might take a look at SC Designs (http://www.scdesignllc.com/). Most of their stuff lately has seemed a bit more mixed modern, but they have done some nice Victorians. One of their principals was involved with Sterling, who built a lot of nice looking Victorian reproductions in the early 90's.

One of their principals was involved with Sterling, who built a lot of nice looking Victorian reproductions in the early 90's.They did a house just a few down from me...it's on their website as "California Craftsman". It's terrible...looks like something a first year architecture student would come up with. I've had to see it every day for a year, and it still makes me dry heave.Exterior looks aside, the inside isn't any better. There is a third floor room, with a flawless view of downtown, yet there are only a few windows to see it through - no porch, wall of windows, french doors, etc. The only good thing is that they left a tree in front of it, which partially hides it. Tiko
I heard that house was very popular. I haven't seen the inside of it, but I sure like it more than all the Tricon ones going up.Harry James, Ostlind Thomas, and Allegro also do some nice Victorian-exterior homes. Vertigo58
Just answered my own question! Found them on 10th and Oxford streets about 2 houses from that corner. There are 3 all in a row. Gotta worship them!
HeightsAtShady
Reuther Homes has a development at W 25th and Bevis. Beautiful "Craftsman" style or Heights area homes. Take a look at the photos. They look great, and fit in with the community. The homes were disigned by Tim Cisneros - Cisneros Design Studios.
