BenH
Definitely a deviation from the Houston photos topic title, but I thought y'all might be curious to see the buildings that stand over the tunnels that were to house the Super-conducting super collider in Waxahachie, Tx. I was up there this weekend for a friend's birthday. Main building. At night you can see two huge, empty rooms running the length of the structure. Building over the main tunnel. Machine shop door. We didn't go inside, as there is a sheriff's department HQ across the street. Texas sunset.
jm1fd
Why was this thing canceled? They're almost finished with the one at CERN. It is, to me anyways, quite staggering in both its complexity and expense.
editor
Nice pictures. No barrel distortion. Yours?
BenH
Nice pictures. No barrel distortion. Yours?Yes, they're mine. I wasn't using a zoom lens, but the perspective is a bit off. Plus, the building wasn't that tall, so most of the problems I usually encounter weren't applicable. The camera was a Canon Digital Rebel in RAW format. LTAWACS
Why was this thing canceled? They're almost finished with the one at CERN. It is, to me anyways, quite staggering in both its complexity and expense. Our politicians decided it was not worth the expense since someone else was already building one. No need for one here. banking214
Now a few of the buildings have been converted into SFR properties. A client approached me on financing one of the properties. I was unable to lend on this due to comparable properties.
BenH
Now a few of the buildings have been converted into SFR properties. A client approached me on financing one of the properties. I was unable to lend on this due to comparable properties. They are doing some kind of data entry there now. The building with the big windows has a wall that splits the interior into two giant rooms. There is nothing inside. They leave a few lights on at night and you can see inside.
