torvald Posted October 3, 2006 Share Posted October 3, 2006 i was taking some photos on marshall street near west alabama and therewere sirens sounding from the next street. this is not unusual on down w.alabama, so i keep on. as i ride down the street, is there are two carsblocking the street with their police lights on (although i don't know if it isHPD or HISD police, etc). i figure it is a school fight and keep going.yet, there are 2 helicopters circling around.as i go down w. alabama (away from downtown), i almost get hit by ablue wrecker truck and then a white one chasing after it... weaving in and out of traffic --- i assume they're racing toward an accident. another car is weaving and going after the last tow truck to get ahead. after i pick up something at the store, i return back (toward downtown) mostly side streets bordering w.alabama and 3 police cars are going in the same direction as the tow trucks, lights on, down the middle lane. by this time i am getting right peeved that i have almost been hit more times in 5 minutes than ever in my life(mostly by cars trying to get out of the way of the chaos).by the time i am near the school again the police cars are gone andeverything is normal. one helicopter is in the direction of the police carsand the other is still hanging out near the school.what the hell is going on? it's not always THIS bad. is it? Corner of Beechnut/59 frwy had been location of at least 4 killings where innocent drivers/people were merely waiting for the lights to change so they could get on the frwy. Basically, if a person doesnt dress/act like they just came out of prison you don't fit in. Gotta look gangsta or else! There was talk about a board game being created called "SW Hou in da hood" If you jump bail the player "goes to jail" cross redlight district proceed to Boardwalk gets an uzi. Serious it was on ebay.
