KimberlySayWhat
Although the mood was upbeat and energizing, district leaders also used the opportunity to take a few jabs at other Texas districts and the local media

RedScare
He is just trying to shrug off some negative publicity of his handywork. News today.............gone tomorrow. Does anyone know how many schools are at "unacceptable" level in Dallas ?According to another Dallas Morning News article...DISD had 23 campuses rated unacceptable this year, compared with 17 last year. Officials said higher performance standards contributed to the increase. And, they are a much smaller district. Can't he find something better to brag about? TJones
I found out that Dallas had 20 schools "unacceptable" last year. I am sure that number has risen. Coog is right, Houston is the biggest in the State. Dallas has 211 campuses. Houston has 302, so it would seem that 10% is the going rate for failure. Maybe Dallas would really be a little better if they weren't STEALING money from the school district with that wonderful CREDIT CARD idea that Dallas' Superintendent came up with. Nice job Cheif. MidtownCoog
The idea of the Super prancing around with a credit card kinda creeps me out.
