Subdude
I suppose Enron falls into the category of well-known, since it is major no more.

ssullivan
American General technically isn't an independent company headquartered here anymore. They were acquired by AIG several years ago and the corporate headquarters is in New York. Houston is more of a divisional headquarters.Reliant and Center Point are two separate companies now so that counts as two different headquarters.I'll also add ExpressJet Airlines, which Continental spun off a year or two ago. It operates all of the Continental Express flights, but is a separate company with its own management structure and ticker symbol. Before the spinoff it was still a separate company from Continental, but Continental owned it fully. Now it's a public company with stock price that's currently higher than Continental's.Another one nobody has named is Baker Hughes.
