ricco67
Was wandering around downtown and took some pictures. What's up with the scene from below? I don't think I've heard anything about what's going on behind the old Texaco Building. Below are images of faces of construction or upcoming attractions. midtown_resident
I believe the building you're inquiring about behind the old texaco bldg is the soon to be club quarters hotel...
111486
The old Texaco building will be the site of the Renaissance hotel.

Subdude
I wish they would take up the old Sherton Hotel building...Yeah, me too. I love the old Sheraton building. At one point it was slated to become an annex of the Hyatt, but that fell through.
jt16
Number 8 on the Kirksey website is Root Memorial Square. Whatever happened to this project? Is it going to happen?

KinkaidAlum
Unfortunately, while the Club Quarters Hotel moves forward (the old Texas State Hotel property), the Kirksey project is on HOLD.Yep, the old Texaco Building conversion into a Renaissance Hotel has seen the work STOP. So, they tore down a building adding another vacant quarter lot (this was going to be the new valet addition) and now the project is on indefinite hold. Let's hope it doesn't go the way of the old Ritz-Carlton project of a few years back for these same buildings!
Subdude
The Club Quarters Hotel is now open. A few months ago someone on the Texaco site said that the building would need asbestos abatement, and after that a decision would be made on development into a hotel or condos.
