brijonmang
That area in the foreground reminds me of the Atlantis hotel in the Bahamas with the landscaping and waterway. The Burj al Arab building in the background looks surreal.

crunchtastic
August 27th. I wonder if they clean the windows on the buildings in Dubai.Sure they do. With the same thousands of South Asian near-slave laborers they use to build them. That aside, WOW that's a cool building. Wow.
names
It would be nice if a person about 6' was in some of the photos. Can't really get a sense of scale from looking at the pics.
TheNiche
It would be nice if a person about 6' was in some of the photos. Can't really get a sense of scale from looking at the pics. There are probably dozens of people down there at ground level. I'm sure at least one of them is close to six feet tall. Doesn't really help, though. It's amazing to think that nearly the top 50 floors are all mechanial. houstonmacbro
Doesn't look like things are that rosy in Dubai afterall: Dubai is just a harbinger of things to come for sovereign debt By Jeremy Warner Economics Last updated: November 27th, 2009 12 Comments Comment on this article Watch out. This may be just the beginning. In the scale of things, the debt problems of Dubai are little more than a flea bite. Dubai’s sovereign debts total “just” $80bn, which counts for nothing against the trillions being raised by advanced economies to plug fiscal deficits.Full article here >> http://blogs.telegraph.co.uk/finance/jeremywarner/100002318/dubai-is-just-a-harbinger-of-things-to-come-for-sovereign-debt/
