BOI
The structure has a basement for some of the personal storage units. That's why the retaining wall along Northern Trust Bank was needed. And also why there is earth being moved until the foundations and basement walls are poured, and finally the dirt piles will be used to backfill as needed. January is typically and historically Houston's wettest month; so things appear a bit slow. Once out of the ground, concrete operations generally go quickly. Weather permitting, I would expect to see concrete in 30 -45 days. The crane was brought in early due to limited availability. It has a substantial concrete foundation and will be tied back into the structure as work progresses. Placing a crane in an elevator shaft is not recommended since the elevators are needed for construction to finsih the exterior and dry in. Since the land next door was available for long term lease, the logical placement was in the middle of the Toweron the south side with road access from Argonne St so as not to disrupt Kirby to the extent possible. The project is very much moving forward. There are always those who wish to take a negative position on any given subject amd we welcome the opportunity to respond in a positive manner.
