Project plans call for splitting the school into two main buildings that will be separated by the town's Avenue O. Students will have access to a skywalk between the buildings so they won't have to cross the street. During phase one of the project, the Charles B. Scott building will be torn down. Once the Scott building is down, construction will begin on the north wing of the new high school. The plan also calls for constructing a natatorium. Construction is expected to begin in July 2023 and end in about December 2025. PBK Architects is the architect.

A few storm seasons between now and 2025 could easily push back the timeline, as is often the case with island construction, Neighbors said."
