The full story, however, is that The Whitehall was closed in 1989 and remained so for a decade until our predecessor company, MHI Hospitality, purchased the hotel in 1999. At that time, we did a $25 million full renovation of the property and reopened it as the Crowne Plaza (as it is now) in 2000.
