IntheKnowHouston
The entire block consisting of 2710 McKinney St is likely going to be a food hall and/or street food market. The name of the concept is NoshGosh (or maybe Nosh Gosh) according to recent trademark filings. NoshGosh is a dining concept from Street Food USA (Street Food Houston, LLC). Street Food has a popular food market in Europe: Aarhus Street Food in Aarhus, Denmark: https://aarhusstreetfood.com/en/ A press release announcing SG ECHO as Street Food USA’s exclusive manufacturer in the United States offers a few details: "SG Blocks, a leading designer, innovator and fabricator of modular structures, announced today that SG ECHO has been selected as Street Food USA’s exclusive manufacturer in the United States for its national modular rollout of food halls." "Thomas Bendtsen, Founder & CEO of Street Food USA noted... 'We are excited that we are going to work side by side with SG Blocks in the years to come. Partners such as SG Blocks are the cornerstone of our strategy when rolling out our concept in the U.S.'" "SG Blocks will provide architectural design, consulting, and engineering services for the project. The initial design build contract will employ 35 SG Blocks Modules. The first location planned is in the Southern United States." https://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20210910005029/en/SG-ECHO-Selected-as-Exclusive-Manufacturer-for-Street-Food-USA Instagram for NoshGosh https://www.instagram.com/noshgosheado/ Edited October 12, 2022 by IntheKnowHouston
IntheKnowHouston
Some images of Street Food's food hall and market in Denmark, Aarhus Street Food. The food hall is housed in a former bus garage. This may help to visualize what could be the vision for NoshGosh in Houston. https://www.instagram.com/aarhusstreetfood/ Following photos are from this website: https://finallylost.com/aarhus-street-food-where-you-can-afford-a-meal/ Edited October 8, 2022 by IntheKnowHouston
IntheKnowHouston
I was nudged to check out Eimer Design's Instagram. Eimer designs a lot of food halls across the country (they also helped with Lyric Market food hall in downtown Houston). There are posts in their feed from this year hinting at a food hall in EaDo. The photos are likely of the warehouse at 2710 McKinney St. This is the site of the proposed food hall / food market NoshGosh. I'm assuming Eimer Design is designing NoshGosh. From February (tagged in East Downtown): https://www.instagram.com/p/CaN2N83pGVZ/ "It's been an amazing start to 2022. Excited and happy to see so.many clients pushing forward with concepts. Site visits in @fargomoorhead @hashtagiamcharlotte @christmas_town_usa @visittampaflorida @vspc @visit_jax @visitgainesville @visitsugarland and this latest beauty in @visithoustontx. So.many amazing buildings to create in.....gonna be a great year!" From August (tagged in Houston): "4,000 SF of approachable food and drink offerings in EaDo? Sure, let's do it." https://www.instagram.com/p/ChtAVaCDkPI/

IntheKnowHouston
Photos of the warehouse property at 2710 McKinney St in East Downtown Houston. These were posted to Eimer Design's Instagram yesterday. The name of the project wasn't disclosed in the posts. However, the photos are for the forthcoming food hall / food market NoshGosh. Eimer Design is an architecture firm whose work mostly consists of food halls. "My favorite pic of todays site survey. Big plans in EaDo." https://www.instagram.com/p/Cl7blxeDKbP "This was a close 2nd." https://www.instagram.com/p/Cl7a4zmje7p Edited December 9, 2022 by IntheKnowHouston
IntheKnowHouston
I don't have further details about Nosh Gosh, but there is a website. A domain was registered for noshgoshhtx.com last month. The website hasn't launched yet.
wilcal
Nosh Gosh B'Gosh! I think I realized why I'm extra excited about this project. Some food delivery options that can be delivered in 20 minutes or less. I'm not normally bullish on food halls, but existing unused warehouse space in a gentrifying area is good.
IntheKnowHouston
A for plat for the 2710 McKinney St parcel was submitted yesterday to the city's planning and development department. Soso EaDo / SOSO EaDo is the listed subdivision name on the plat. However, the Arcgis maps show the plat's subdivision name as Oso EaDo. 2710 McKinney St is the site of the proposed food hall / food market NoshGosh.
wilcal
The name appears to be intended to be SOSO EADO. Excited to see this one moving forward. I think that they must be planning to do some serious-ish modifications to the structure, otherwise they wouldn't need to plat.

I only noted Oso EaDo because it's what's on the Arcgis plat map. I included both Soso EaDo and Oso EaDo so it's searchable. That way if anyone is looking for the plat in the group and the associated topic using either name, they can find it. @hindesky posted the proposed plat for 2710 McKinney in an unrelated topic. Frankly, "Oso EaDo" would be a better name than "Soso Eado". Which would you rather have, a name that represents an apex predator, or one that is a well-known synonym for mediocrity? "How is it? Eh, it's so-so."
