They don't actually have to look like Katy projectile vomited them into the city. But Tex, it's so much cheaper to pull out the drawings they've used on the last 300 stations, and use them again. We are in an age of spending as little as possible to get things done. 18 hours ago, mkultra25 said: I'm in favor of ditching boxy gas stations and resurrecting mid-century modern ones. I do wonder how much it would cost to make that able to withstand 140 mph hurricane winds. I also wonder if that was a gas station, or an Empire Star Destroyer hangar... I've actually been to that gas station. It still stands as a gateway/visitor's center welcoming people into Palm Springs from the Amtrak station and I-10.

Texasota
Uggh. This place had better at least serve decent tacos.

Texasota
That's nowhere near this location. If I'm living in one of these apartment buildings next to a gas station I at least want to be able to get a decent breakfast from it.

jessicau
Will be a Shell gas station. I thought it was Chevron. Colors are yellow and orange.

Triton
It's been a while since I've seen a new Shell being built. Btw, from the road, this place looks massive! Looks like it has a decent sized car wash in the back after all... like comparable to the Mr Carwash Express on Washington.
hindesky
A new Shell station opened on San Jacinto St @ Alabama. One has been under construction for years at OST and Fannin St.

TX3G4R
As much as I hated this going up here, it’s not half bad looking. Looks pretty modern to me and 50x better than that hideous building/gas station they put up on Washington and Shepherd in front of El Rey. I like the use of stone, aluminum and the fake wood here.
