WesternGulf
I took this pic a while back wondering how long they would stand in Fourth Ward. The homes are very representative of the history of Freedmen's Town but so were a lot of properties that have seen the wrecking ball in this area. Note that there use to be five of these homes standing in a row, now there are only three.
editor
I remember a lot of those places from when I lived in Midtown. I thought they were abandoned until I noticed the Christmas lights and satellite dishes. Reminds me of the Judybats song, "Down in the Shacks Where the Satellite Dishes Grow." TJones
From the looks of that first one, it won't be long until "then there were two."
Subdude
Cool picture. Those houses look like it may be too late to save from the wrecking ball.
groovehouse
With the way demolition is going in that neighborhood, they won't last long.

editor
The last batch in that neighborhood to go down were replaced by those aluminum can looking things on West Gray.

WesternGulf
The last batch in that neighborhood to go down were replaced by those aluminum can looking things on West Gray. That's most of Fourth Ward. I would love to see an aerial shot because it is dense in there with the narrow streets but everything is the same.
