RedScare
My flight attendant friend just returned from a Continental Airlines PetLift. They flew to Baton Rouge and pick up 157 dogs and cats, then flew them to San Francisco to be cleaned, fed and hopefully reunited with their owners.67 of the pets got to fly coach. Since the only humans were the crew, many of the animals were allowed to roam the cabin. They were so tired, that few of them even barked. Here is a link to some of her photos.http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/kerry605/alb...hRhznDBrShtTv4O
jm1fd
That's wonderful!!Good thing my dog wasn't on the flight....she'd have been the only pet still alive when they landed. LOL
Houston born and raised
That's so wonderful of them to do! I hope all of the animals find their owners or a good home soon.
RedScare
Apparently, there have been two of these pet evacuation flights. Each one has been financed by T. Boone Pickens and his wife...to the tune of $50,000 per airlift.Pretty nice thing to do. It was heart wrenching, watching all of those animals trapped on porches and roofs on TV. My friend said the rescuers were very concerned, as well, asking that particular animals be taken care of because of particularly traumatic circumstances. MidtownCoog
I just hope they don't give the pets Red Cross Cards! They'll be at Burberry buying the 2006 pet gear, instead of buying Mighty Dog at Wal-Mart.

What a waste of resources.
