According to Mike McGuff of McGuff Blog, he's reporting from multiple sources that there's been layoffs taken place at KHOU-TV CBS 11.

He also got word that possibly editors, master control operators, truck engineers, Great Day Houston staffers and even the art department have all been affected.

Gannett took over the station in 2013, after it bought Belo. Other Gannett-owned stations have also been experiencing similar layoffs as well such as WFAA-TV 8 in Dallas and Gary Dinges reported four behind-the-scenes positions have been eliminated at Austin ABC affiliate KVUE 24.

TV Spy found out there's been layoffs at other stations, owned by Gannett: "While continually taking advantage of new technology to reallocate resources to our journalism and put more feet on the street," spokesperson for Gannett tells TV Spy. "Occasionally, these efforts result in staffing adjustments."

Any reaction to these recent developments affecting the Gannett stations ?
