kylejack
I noticed the "Irked by reserved seating" in the Letters to Editor section in Thursday's chronicle---------". . . the theater will only have reserved seats. . . . ticket buyers will have to pay $1 to $1.50 "amenity" fee. . . "what's up with that?Instead of a matinee price and a night-time price it is a gradually shifting scale. Example from the Madison, Wisconsin location: Adult Matinee base price is $7. If you go at noon to 1 there is no amenities fee. If you go at 2 there is an extra $1 added on. If you go a little later the fee is a little higher. If you go in the evening the base price is $9.50. If you go in the evening on a weekend night, you're paying the highest prices.http://www.sundancecinemas.com/ticket_pricing_madison.htmlThe other Sundance location is in San Francisco is pricier. I'm not opposed to the pricing scheme on its face, but we'll have to see what the base prices look like. It will be kind of cool to reserve a good seat and be able to get there at the last minute.
