To this day, the white concrete husk of the onetime Island Bowl sits tucked just off Seawall Boulevard, a social wound inflicted by the 2008 storm that never quite healed. A new alley with 14 lanes is set to open next month adjacent to the Galveston Primetime movie theater on the far west end of town. Prida has also partnered with the locally owned Papa’s Pizza to expand the Primetime menu beyond standard multiplex offerings like popcorn and hot dogs to include pizza rolls, muffulettas and sandwiches. k5jri radio Posted November 27, 2023 Share Posted November 27, 2023 Looks like the new bowling alley adjacent to the movie theater complex at 8902 Seawall Blvd is about 4 miles WSW from the now derelict building at 3424 Seawall Blvd. that once housed the Island Bowl prior to Hurricane Ike.
