sevfiv
So lately I have taken up walking several times a week - not only is it decent exercise, but I am seeing so much more of the city than I ever would have otherwise - I get bored extremely easily and this seems to keep my interest thus far (gyms are a no-no on the boredom factor for me).Lately I have been going from Montrose to north downtown - the goal is to walk each north/south street and take the rail back (ends up being about 3.5 - 4 miles total walking).Thought I'd share a couple links I thought were useful in plotting/keeping track of where I've been:Community Walk:http://www.communitywalk.comGmap pedometer:http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/and one just introduced to me that I haven't had much experience with:http://www.walkjogrun.net/
Dan the Man
^That is the same reason why I started going on bike rides. Biking/walking allows you to see many things that you would otherwise miss in a car.
Subdude
I walk to work, so to relieve the boredom of the same route I do the same thing and try to take different routes just to try them out. It adds a little interest, and some exercise.

The interface between the out of kilter Downtown and Montrose street grids creates all sorts of weird, disorienting intersections. I've lived (and walked) in Houston for more than 25 years, and still sometimes get turned around when attempting to navigate those streets.
