ricco67
While watching "Modern Marvels: Super Highways" (2008) I was surprised to see that the I-10 construction got a decent chunk of coverage. They even showed our downtown (and rail system).Aside from calling Katy "A bedroom community", I found it fairly accurate. They didn't make us seem like hicks for once. houstonmacbro
Most suburbs are bedroom communities. Even vaunted Sugarland.
westguy76
While I believe on average, among it's residents, it would hold true that the Katy area is a bedroom community, I believe the area is on the threshhold of change in this regard. Consider the energy corridor, the burgeoning medical/hospice facilities that are being built, and other industry located between Katy and Belt 8. I for one live in the Katy area, and "commute" without use of a freeway about 12 miles to work in the Westchase area (about 20 minutes) where there is a large engineering presence.
