lockmat
I did my best to make sure there isn't a thread on this already. I searched in going up and galveston forums. Anyway, here it goes... http://news.galvestondailynews.com/story.l...57d16424938c180 High hopes: Anyone trying to build a high-rise in Galveston knows the process can be tricky, expensive, exhausting and ultimately futile. Still, Houston-development group Houstate will go optimistically before Galveston Planning Commission on Nov. 6, seeking a specific-use permit to build a 12-story condominium project, hotel and 20 single-family townhomes on a parcel between 41st and 45th streets. Houstate principals Omri Shafran and Avi Rozenman want to build the 280-unit condominium called The Presidio on the 6.4-acre site of former U.S. Coast Guard officers housing at Fort Crockett, which is partly on Seawall Boulevard. This will be the website we'll have to visit when things are updated: http://www.houstate.com/
plumber2
There will be objections from the Denver/Caduceus Subdivisions right behind this property. I haven't seen the project model yet, but I am glad to see that some of the Coast Guard Housing units are considered worth saving. The one on 45th and Ave U right behind Hometown Bank is in real bad shape.
