Subdude
GHPA has a new website documenting a lot of Houston's art deco achitecture from the 1920s until now, both standing and demolished. Very good stuff.Houston modernistic architecture
brucesw
Fantastic website. I got the message in my email and went right there. It's clear I'll spend several hours over the next several days perusing the site. This alone is worth the membership in GHPA -- just knowing I'm supporting something like this. Subdude
I wish some of the photos had more detail - address and perhaps some background. Maybe they will add information over time.

WesternGulf
Yep. Krupp & Tuffly needs to make its way back and the Wilson Stationary Building looked so cool back then.Quality website. Edited May 24, 2007 by WesternGulf
KinkaidAlum
Cool find. It's about time the GHPA got on the ball to help educate citizens. Maybe if more people knew about what has been lost and what might be lost, they'd get a bigger audience to support them...
gonzo1976
Excellent stuff. The section on the Metropolitan Theater is really nice (http://www.endangereddeco.org/1920s/metro.html).If you're ever in the Texas Room, the Alfred Finn collection of photos has some really detailed pictures of the interior. It should have been a crime to tear that building down.
