Ethanra
Wonder how many of those citizens are here legally.I read somewhere that illegals add another 150,000 to the pop. of Houston and 300,000 to the metro area....They are not counted on the census report... Original Timmy Chan's
The intelligent answer to an irrelevant question is ALL OF THEM.See if you can figure out why. Is this an IQ test or something? If so, I just scored a 160.

NewMND
Okay, so if those numbers are right, does mean the Houston area is now the sixth largest metro in the country? Anybody with good math skills know?

Riverside, CA4. Los Angeles, CA5. Clark, NV6. San Bernadino, CA7. Tarrant, TX8. Collin, TX9. Gwinnet, GA10. Will, ILFastest growing by percentage:1. Flagler, FL2. Kendall, IL3. Rockwall, TX4. Loudon, VA5. Forsyth, GA6. Pinal, AZ7. Douglas, CO8. Henry, GA9. Paulding, GA10. Lyon, NVEdit: I just figured it out. CNN was showing the fastest-growing counties for the year 2005-2006. The Census Bureau's list is the fastest-growing for the 6 years 2000-2006

Thank you for a very intelligent and mature reply. To clarify, I mean't to ask how many unaccounted individuals would be added to make our population number more realistic. I see that those questions have been answered already. So glad all of us haif members work as a team.

It is based on several indicators that the Census Bureau uses to estimate a population, such as number of utility hookups, etc. Based on the number of occupied households, they multiply by an average household factor to arrive at their estimate. For comparison, the City of Houston estimates Houston's population at 2,231,000 as of Jan.1.
