Gornet said he understands comments from residents such as Shields, but he emphasized that if the Grand Parkway is not built the area will experience even more traffic.

"There's a lot of congestion now, and it's going to get worse," he said.

I know some people complain that roads and expansion aren't built until it's already too late and then congestion is even worse due to construction.

Well, they're actually being progressive about things, and people need to stop being short-sighted.
