  1. Who watched Dave Ward's final newscast on Ch. 13 on Tuesday night ? http://abc13.com/1924492 https://www.facebook.com/ABC13DaveWard/
  2. KVVV Ch. 15.3 Pinoy Houston TV for the Filipino American community. Houston used to have MBCD Ch. 51.5 for the Korean American community until August 23rd, 2016.
  3. If POTUS Trump is successful in boosting the US economic situation, bringing millions of jobs back to the United States & finally getting rid of illegal immigration once & for all: in the likelihood of Trump winning reelection in 2020, will he able to get double digits against whoever the Dems put up ? A.) YES: he needs between 56 to 60% in reelection B.) NO: the country is too divided
  4. I see that Ch. 13 pushed back Dave Ward's final day with the station due to him recovering from open heart surgery.
  5. Trump's likely to force Mexico pay $$$ for the US/Mexico Border Wall: deport ALL of the 11 million illegal immigrants, aggressively cut the budget including the out-of-control government spending, finally repeal that horrible Obamacare garbage. I'll go even further: He wins reelection in 2020 by double digits & possibly carrying 35 to 42 states.
  6. In the aftermath of Josh Innes joining KMBE 790-AM & returning to Houston, the iHeart Media station had to let go of longtime radio host Charlie Pallilo in order to make way for Innes in the rating-crucial afternoon drive spot. Pallilo's status was not addressed in a company statement announcing Innes' hire to work the 3:00pm-7:00pm afternoon shift & station officials refused to return phone calls seeking comment om Monday. However, Pallilo's name & blog both were removed from the KMBE website & he told colleagues that he was no longer with the iHeart Media station. Innes will be paired with former KILT-AM Sports Radio 610 producer, Jim Mudd on KMBE 790 AM for the 3:00pm-7:00pm afternoon drive slot beginning on Monday, October 10th! Plus, Innes' show will be airing against the KILT afternoon drive show, "The Triple Threat" co-hosted by Rich Lord, with whom he had a very ugly, contentious relationship with during his 4 years at KILT. This sets up to being what could be one of the most contentious, nastiest, potentially entertaining ratings & programing face-offs in the history of Houston sports radio. Any thoughts on Innes joining 790-AM & how he'll do competing against his former colleagues at KILT-AM Sports Radio 610 ? http://www.chron.com/sports/article/Josh-Innes-returning-to-Houston-sports-radio-9615704.php
  7. Let's see if the Turner administration is able to pull this off!
  8. In the wake of 16 people hospitalized from overdoses of synthetic cannabinoids known as Kush or K2, Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner has vowed to "take back our parks" by bulking up police presence there & in other "hot spots" across citywide. Turner had announced on Thursday an "aggressive plan" in creating a 50-person downtown police patrol division, the transfer of about 175 officers to patrol beats, an overtime program to add roving bike & golf-cart patrols in city parks & the hiring of 13 park rangers. "They are scaring away families & taxing our emergency medical services with their calls for help when they overdose," Turner said. "We can't have people smoking Kush & passing out just feet from where our children are playing." http://abc13.com/news/houston-mayor-takes-aim-at-citys-kush-epidemic/1407870/
  9. Has the Turner administration said anything about this nonsense regulation ?
  10. The Houston Chronicle reported on Governor Abbott's appointments since taking office last year, the majority of those appointed to state boards & commissions have been predominately Anglo. Three-fourths of Abbott's appointments have been Anglo, with more than 60% of them Anglo men. State Senator Kirk Watson (D-Austin), who serves on the Senate Nominations Committee that considers appointees for confirmation, praised "the respect for the process" being demonstrated by Abbott. However, Watson did say the issue of diversity needs serious attention. 72% of Abbott's appointments have been Anglo, 62% have been men & 45% are Anglo men, according to figures provided by Abbott's office. Next largest subgroup by ethnicity & gender is Anglo women at 27%. 15% have been Latino & 6% African American. Abbott's predecessors--including fellow GOPers Rick Perry [R] & George W. Bush [R] & Dem Ann Richards (D)--also appointed a preponderance of Anglos & men. Richards had the lowest percentage of each, with 67% Anglo & 59% men. 75% of Perry's appointments were Anglo & 64% men; for Bush, the respective percentages were 77% & 63%. Thoughts on the appointments made by Governor Abbott so far ? A.) LOVE IT B.) Hate It C.) TBD http://www.houstonchronicle.com/news/houston-texas/houston/article/Abbott-s-appointments-raise-some-brows-7253188.php
  11. In Dan Patrick's Texas, he doesn't want to see Texas go interracial for obvious reasons!
  12. Fox 26 planning on doing a special on the diverse communities in Houston, which effects Texas & the entire United States next week! Wondering how people like TX Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick [R] will react when they see the Texas or America they know changing into a more racially diverse place ? Does this explain why we're seeing Voter ID laws, etc., from the Legislature in order to hold back the inevitably of seeing the Anglo population declining as racial minorities becoming a majority in Texas?
  13. Houston Chronicle reported that TX Education Commissioner Michael L. Williams has ordered that LaMarque ISD be closed down. Any reaction to this development?
  14. Did anyone watch the KPRC-TV commercial with Queen Dominique's bloviating ego in the middle ?
  15. Sad news to report about a member of the Houston media. Vikki Cummings Taylor Rosenkranz, better known as Vikki Taylor to TV viewers, passed away following a battle with cancer. In recent years, Taylor filled in for Don Nelson on Ch. 13's morning traffic reports. Before that, she was Westwood One's airborne traffic reporter for 104.1 KRBE & KTRK for 14 years according to her LinkedIn profile. http://mikemcguff.blogspot.com/2015/01/houston-traffics-vikki-taylor-loses-cancer-battle.html?m=1 http://abc13.com/news/traffic-reporter-vikki-taylor-dies-after-battle-with-cancer/499339 Reaction from anyone on Taylor's passing?
  16. Interesting to see how Patrick handles governing because he's already pissed off the 11 Democrats in the TX State Senate by only giving them just 2 out of 14 committee chairmanships (they went from 18 to 14).
  17. You're thinking major scandal will bring him down. We'll see how it goes for the next 4 years!
  18. Ladies & gentlemen, tomorrow is inauguration day for Greg Abbott [R] as TX's 48th Governor & Dan Patrick [R] as the state's 42nd Lieutenant Governor, both being sworn into office at the State Capitol steps. Afterwards, a BBQ luncheon as well as an inaugural parade (first parade since 2003) & finally: the inaugural ball at the Austin Convention Center later Tuesday night. http://abc13.com/live/ http://kxan.com/live-stream/ What's everyone's thoughts on Abbott as his family moves into the Governor's Mansion?
  19. HISD Superintendent Terry Greir got a salary increase according to the Houston Chronicle.
  20. I've read it, but the big question I was meaning to ask is why didn't the community attend the HISD meetings earlier to protest against the school board's decision to demolish Wheatley ?
  21. Big question is where are the Wheatley High students going to end up now ?
  22. WOW ! I bet the community is either pissed off or finding another strategy on what's next.
