  1. Nice find. didn't care much for the disco beat, but the choice of the air raid siren sound effect was exellent! Also the shot of the Federal Signal Thunderbolt 1000T ( set to chopper level 5) was neat. IIRC Houston never had Chrysler Air Raid Sirens, just Thunderbolt 1000T's (correct me if I'm wrong!) Chrysler Air Raid Sirens were single toned. EDIT: Now that I heard it several times it sounds more like a British Carters siren!
  2. I remember seeing this group when I was in my early teens. Anyone know What happend to the members of the group? I knew Michael Knust lived In Spring Branch. I was(and still am) an avid fan of this group. Any remanises(sp) would be helpful.
  3. I attended St. Jerome's School from 1962 to 1969 before they put up a fence around it, and before they built a new church. anyone remember Msgr. Alphred W. Raye or Fr. Regginald Nesvadba?
  4. What about these 2 small roundabouts: Benignus @ Perthshire and Benignus @ Kingsride? I have to manouvre around these when I mosquito fog this neighborhood at night! Benignus @ Kingsride http://maps.google.c...2,20.21,,0,8.04

  7. has not set their status

  8. Man! I've have to get to the BOTTOM of this! I know it's not my siren, its locked up in my storage shed!
  9. JLWM8609, What did it sound like? a Thunderbolt (Duel toned mechanical)? or Whelen (Electronic single toned)? There are a bunch of Whelen Modulators along the ship channel and HWY 225 (Refinery Row) Where is Riverside?
  10. The "Official" death of Houston's air raid sirens was at 12:00 noon on April 24, 1992. I managed to "get one" a series A Federal Thunderbolt 1000T. It's a duel toned model with a 5/6 port ratio which produces a Minor Third pitch. This gives the siren it's characteristic "doomsday"sound. The "Houston test" consisted of first the alert signal (one minute steady tone) followed immediatly by the attack signal (one minute rise and fall tone). On a slightly off-topic note does anyone know of a "scandal" about the sale of Houston's sirens to a town in west texas?
  11. Were there TWO Kitirik's? Bunni Orsak and someone else? I also remember Cadet Don and just barely remember LoonyTown.
