Not sure how legit this is. The renderings shown on the website are of other projects in the US.

Are we getting a spire or anything with a non-flat roof? Recent 30 story residential buildings are usually around 350-400 feet.
I’m thinking this as well or the number of stories has increased. Leaning towards the latter because the architectural feature would have to be pretty significant.

Real estate investment firm DeisoMoss has landed $26.1 million of pre-development financing for its planned mixed-use tower project in Houston, Commercial Observer can first report.
Northwind Group originated the first mortgage bridge loan — through one of its discretionary debt funds — on DeisoMoss’ 551,905 square-foot development, which comprises 355 multifamily units, 100,000 square feet of Class A office space and high-end retail. Surya Capital Partners’ Adi Chugh, Rich Levin and Christian Hungarranged the transaction.
DeisoMoss purchased the property at 2120 Post Oak Boulevard from the Tisch familylast November for an undisclosed price. Deiso said an early 2023 groundbreaking is planned, and the firm has already attracted interest from “nationally recognized white-tablecloth” restaurant chains for the retail space.

Luay Nakhleh, the William and Stephanie Sick Dean of the George R. Brown School of Engineering, toured the construction site of the new Engineering and Science Building on April 5. The 266,000-square-foot building rising on the former Abercrombie Engineering Lab site will host materials, quantum and energy research among other initiatives, and will be home to The Welch Institute. The building is expected to open in early 2023.- 3

In what thread was this discussed? If there’s enough evidence I’ll merge it there or start a new one.

Current project status. The City of Houston selected the design consultant, HDR, Engineering, Inc, and issued a Notice to Proceed for City of Houston Phase I Preliminary Design. The preliminary engineering phase will conduct various studies and perform analysis to then produce a recommended project. Final Design will then follow, finalizing design elements and producing final construction drawings, necessary permits, and addressing preparation for real estate acquisition and or easements. Design will start Summer 2021 and complete Summer 2023. Construction will be from Spring 2024 to Winter 2027.

.Did HKS really get this gig? I mean really? KPF or SOM weren’t interested? Woulda been a better design from either of those firms. Gensler too.
KPF is working with HKS on this.A lot of Austin’s buildings tend to not take up a whole city block. If this was plopped in Houston or Dallas the floor plates would be considered average.
The design does make it stand out, I like it a lot. My only minor gripe is that I wish the midsection was more cohesive with the top portion, a bit awkward from some angles.

Designs may be the similar as they share the same architect and number of stories though I doubt it’ll be copy n paste like Novare Group’s Skyhouses- this site is more narrow than the one for The Heights.
Preston’s design portfolio is a bit all over the place so who knows.

The reason I think it might be is that Us Living and Vero Sade are connected. The Vero Sade description in their render and the TDLR description are the same. Of course renders rarely are what is built.
The rendering they used is the backside of their Heights project. I take it we’ll see the real thing closer to construction.

This is the W. Alabama render we saw last week. Across from Tacos Tierra Caliente and next to the future Kipling apartments by Allen Harrison.

Just to be clear, this rendering is not the design for their West Alabama project.
