Won't be higher than 9 floors
Do you know if that includes the garage?
This doesn't seem like a location for a high end hotel. A 3-star maybe?

This would be awesome. It would be even better if they could do the same thing as the JW and take off the ~1960s façade to restore it to its original 1917 appearance!
I hope so. Time to start searching for those vintage photos!
was the address the same?

Awesome!
but goodness gracious please tell me there is a beautiful original facade they can return to. Just don't leave it the way it is.

Wasn't it originally rumored for the lot just south of The Wilshire?
I think it was for BLVD Place. There was a rendering too.

Did they contact you after you revealed semi-insider info on HAIF?
----
Also, they're publicly traded so hopefully we'll get more info before ground breaking.
As of May of 2016 the only project listed under development is one in Florida.

And there are a ton of lurking eyes watching these forums closely. Got contacted about Allen Center renovations and WOMH revelation from people in the projects.

I'm confused. Will this new Loews hotel be one of the buildings further up on the page that we've already seen a rendering of?
Maybe. It will at least be at that location. The poster didn't explain it but the address of the owner on HCAD is the same as Loews:

Driving inbound on 59 north this morning, it's apparent that the crown will allow it to stick out just above 95% of the other tall buildings downtown, along with its front row seat on the north side to allow it to stick out like a sore thumb. At least from this side of town.

Darn! Thanks!!

Any chance this building is for Houston? This article is about HOK moving spaces from the Williams tower to the Phoenix tower.

Based of the BBVA tower brochure they only mention the hotel/multi-family project, not the office project. Y'all think that's just because they don't want to mention a competing project or that this will be the second phase?

Some other takeaways from document:
- "Phase 1 is anticipated to open in 2017" (kinda shocking to me)
- Phase 2 is two buildings, is anticipated to open in 2018.
Also, I hope they only speak of two phases because these are the near term projects. I'm still hoping for more phases later on. I wonder why they don't have to consider those in this study, too.

I'm not so sure how this finished product will look. Up close those green tiles look like they're from Builders Square and don't even look like they were installed that well.

There is still tons of room east of the site. Any guesses what he'll do with it?

From Aprils meeting, Trammell Crow is the developer. Also, the approval to abandon Palm St. for a pedestrian plaza/green space has been revoked by the COH due to neighborhood concerns.
More here: http://www.museumparkna.org/resources/ Documents/MPNA.MPSN%20Meeting%204.27.16.pdf
I'm glad this is a legit project moving in the right direction. I also agree with the neighborhood concerns 100%. I see no reason they can't make a great project without closing off a street. Houston needs MORE connectivity, not less.

Do we know if they will be touching up the outside? It could use some.

First, I don't know why we call ourselves the 3rd coast. We're either the first coast or the gulf coast.
Secondly, I hope all that green space gets used.

Too bad the water isn't that wide all the time, it looks like a real river.

Did they happen to say the time-frame on this project?
It says they're in the design phase and 50% done with the project per this link

Hines owned 609 Main for many years. It was a parking lot, but look now! I have read a lot of his books. Very smart man, he will do another highrise. He took a chance on Pennzoil Place and received awards. He eats brocolli everyday and he is 90! Fabu person!
I didn't know Gerald was an author!

Stopped by the site this afternoon and talked to the crew chief. He said that they were excavating the site to 17 feet below ground.
He also said something that was very interesting. He said that once this project is finished there is talk that the hotel just north of this site
will be demolished and a sixty six story tower will take its place. Nice rumor. Images of the excavation will come when Brijonmang downloads for me.
It's a skinny site, so maybe we'll get a NYC lipstick tower?

The garage top pool will have awesome views of Target and the Skyhouse garage. Luxury only Houston can provide.
