The chronicle article I read stated that the trading group was staying downtown and they were moving the supporting groups.

Either way this is horrible news. I don't understand, urban revitalization is at one of the highest points ever yet, so many of these large corporations are moving to the suburbs. Is this due to the fact that the people high up in the companies grew up during the era of suburban sprawl and don't see the appeal of urban areas like the new young folks see?

IIRC, the trading floors are at 1K Main.

If Shell is consolidating into spaces they own, I'd presume the trading floors move from 1K Main to 1 Shell Plaza.

^^^ @tigereye really cool job here my pal!  referencing these illustrations can only highlight just how very subtle and elegant MIDWAY is constructing and integrating this hotel facility into this entertainment complex.... almost seamlessly.  the beautiful palm trees only add to the vitality that all of this will bring once completed.  this is going to be one gorgeous place.... wow!

I agree @monarch. The design is consistent with existing complex and will fit in quite nicely when complete.

Now if only Midway would open up entrances with patio seating along the Dallas St side (along with that rooftop park atop Forever 21)

Why does the library need a performance stage?  Will this be a small stage for, maybe "puppet shows for kids?"  Or something else?

I'm curious as to why the library wants to move into the arts realm.   Could this stage be for book or poetry readings?  Anyone know the size of stage that they are planning?

Some weekends when I ride by, I've come across poetry readings on the steps of the old library during book sale events. Surprisingly, the poetry readings I've encountered do draw a small crowd (and not of bums) so a small stage seems like a good idea for these types of events.

I went by the other day and there was nothing on the site. I also saw a sign in their pre leasing office that said they were gone, but if you needed to speak with someone and they gave a phone number.

My gut tells me that this project has come to a sad end. I hope that I'm wrong but if this looked like most of his other finished projects maybe its a relief for the east side of downtown. There's enough stucco on the east side of downtown already.

Ran into a worker inside the perimeter fence. Asked him if it was dead. He said flatly no, held up a few weeks because of permits and would resume next week.

Office looks dead despite the "we'll be back shortly" sign lol. Not sure what to believe at this point.

Was driving 45s bound from 610 north last night, and notice a strip of white lights and a bigger blue light on top of Chase tower. My eyes are bad, but I thought they finally put the Chase logo on the top.....they were just regular bulbs. Wishful thinking

I saw it myself the other night on the drive in from 45. Not sure what is going on.
