Looks like the northwest tower crane is going up this weekend or they are going to take out the AT crane in the hole. But either way Prairie St is going to be closed.
Prairie St. Closure
Sunday, March 17 (5 am – 9 pm)
Complete closure of the 800 block of Prairie (between Milam and Travis) to allow for crane erection.
Detour: Motorists will turn right onto Travis, left on Congress, left on Milam ,and right back onto Prairie.
Contact: Gilbane Building Company, Gerald Moore, 832-256-5696
Correct. South tower crane to go up the following weekend.

Had the opportunity to attend the mat pour party for Texas Tower earlier and got a few shots from the 23rd floor of Calpine Center. Great views all around! Also got to meet @ekdrm2d1 and his lovely mother. Thanks for waiting for me to come down!
@bobruss to answer your question, I was told the rebar is 12' deep.
^^^Bonus points if you can spot @ekdrm2d1 on the garage.

EDIT: They are starting the street closures early, so the concrete pour is on.
I'm going to do a timelapse from my window. Should be pretty nifty to watch.
They pushed it back to this afternoon because of the chance for lightning.

I like that wood seems to be coming back into interiors
Well then you should be really excited to know they are building entire skyscrapers out of wood now.

I'm late to finding this topic but this has some similarities to the Legacy Hall concept in Frisco, TX. My brother lives a block away from it so we went there back in January, very cool spot! It's A-framed like this building and has three floors...first floor is a food hall with restaurants lining the outer perimeter, second floor has more seating, a couple bar areas and the third floor is a brewery/restaurant. There is also an outdoor stage for live music and performances and you can view it from the second and third floors. I'm excited for this to open now, it should be a pretty popular venue if done right.

I’m trying really hard to be excited for it, but it’s just not doing anything for me. I know it’s better than an empty lot, and it’ll try to engage the ground level and have great amenities. But I worry this is the last large office tower we may be seeing in awhile, and I feel like this design is a missed opportunity.
I think the renderings given so far don't do the best at making this building look as refined as it will be when built. I was recently shown a closer and more detailed rendering and I think this building is going to look great when finished. Very excited to see it go up.

That would be both hilarious and sad if they demo that great looking church for a parking garage.
Maybe it's just the closest major street intersection and the actual site that is in question is the current surface lot along Jackson Street between Texas and Capitol.

According to January’s Downtown TIRZ meeting, this project, Block 98 and Block 114 are still being planned. No update as to when they’ll actually break ground.
I don't know much about this project but block 98 is still scheduled to kick off later this year.

I was recently commissioned to do a lot of photography for Main Street from downtown through the Med Center. The city is aggressively trying to promote this corridor and I'm looking forward to how it will continue to grow.

Most excellent. Can't wait to watch it go up. I have a feeling this one will look better in person than in the renderings.

I honestly hope they take down the wrapped rope lights on the arches....it was "fun" for Christmas but i think its kinda of chintzy for the rest of the year...
Would be kind of cool though if those were perforations in the metal and the arches were illuminated by LEDs from the inside. You could have some cool effects.

I was thinking Greenway but I guess you could argue for Memorial City/Greenspoint....I just wouldn't really put them up there.
