Texas Heart Institute hires new president and CEO from Duke University Health System https://www.bizjournals.com/houston/news/2021/03/18/texas-heart-institute-duke-university-james-rogers.html Texas Heart Institute, the pioneering Houston group behind notable advances in cardiovascular and heart transplant medicine, has found its new president and CEO after a national search. Joseph G. Rogers will take over the president and CEO role at Texas Heart Institute on May 17. THI's previous president and then president emeritus was James T. Willerson. Willerson was appointed to the president role by renowned surgeon and THI founder Dr. Denton Cooley and became president emeritus in 2017 after Cooley died in 2016. Willerson served as president emeritus until he died in September 2020, THI told the Houston Business Journal in an email.
