  1. add mountains in the background and this could be a green tech company's complex in the silicon valley. amazing campus and great pics
  2. The light color facade actually goes well with the parking garage. These are amazing pictures, but this building is even more impressive in person. Thanks for sharing guys!
  3. Gargantuan is a great word to describe this. I frequently ride the 85 bus past this and it is certainly an imposing structure compared to the surrounding buildings in the area.
  4. so this will have apartments too. interesting... http://www.chron.com/neighborhood/memorial/news/article/Hotel-ZaZa-Memorial-City-to-bring-chic-vibe-to-6610059.php
  5. I'm curious to see how the routes will be designed, the frequency of buses, and the time estimates between the two endpoints. from the article.
  6. The first two pictures are looking NE to the intersection of BH and I-10, I'm just not sure what's going there now. You are correct though, it's the SW corner. That area has been fenced off for a while (since the air liquide center was under construction). Is that where the Whole Foods was rumored to go in?
  7. This first two pictures are looking at the NE corner of Bunker Hill and I-10 (pretty sure this is where the ZaZa is going) This is the newly fenced off area. Any idea what's going in here? Behind Ciro's Behind Guadalajara
  8. a fence was being put up between guadalajara and the forest painted parking garages. perhaps another garage is going up for zaza parking? i'll be back over there in a few days and will try to snap a pic.
  9. pretty cool video about the new network from pbs http://video.pbs.org/viralplayer/2365581096 edit: i can't figure out how to embed the video

    and then there's this... http://www.chron.com/entertainment/music/article/Taylor-Swift-s-Houston-concert-had-multiple-car-6495814.php
  11. for perspective, does anyone know the heights of the newer air-liquid office buildings? is this going in the fenced in area at the i-10/bunker hill intersection or behind dillards?
  12. I ride the 85 (which is normally pretty crowded) and transfer at the NW TC on to the 131 (which has morphed in to the 162 among others). I experienced a little confusion at the TC because the bus lanes were reorganized and also heard two separate drivers say they were trying to learn the new routes. All in all, the changes shaved off around 10 minutes from my round trip. Overall, I'd grade it a solid A. The increased peak frequency is certainly nice and a free ride is always welcome.
  13. Check out the PBS docs Super Skyscrapers and City of Cranes. Those will answer some of your questions and feature some spectacular views.
  14. Finally got a chance to render one of my own in Photoshop. Just a quick edit. For reference, Central Park would be roughly where Memorial Park is located. Pretty cool! Anyone think we'll have 1.5M people (roughly the amount of Manhattan) living inside that area within the next 30-50 years?
  15. How'd you make that map? I'd like to see how Manhattan would look rotated to fit basically between i-10 and 59. I guess we would lose the med center, but gain the galleria and the energy corridor, correct?
  16. Touche. Poor word choice on my part. In any case, it will be a welcome addition to the area.
  17. <-- UHD student. I haven't heard anything lately, but that's not surprising with this school. They don't seem to announce anything until after the fact (proposed graduation date change, attempted assault on campus). Either way it'll be nice to bring more residential closer to the campus and give it some life.
  18. Does a map exist of the TMC "blocks" and what's under construction like there is for downtown? Seems like several projects going up, or soon to be.
