  1. Was The Ale House part of Steak & Ale?

No. It was a very unique place. They served pub grub, had an amazing wooden English style bar, awesome patio and a wonderful selection of draught beer. I really, really miss The Ale House. Damn Chase bank and that overpriced strip center. Also, damn them for killing an amazing and beautiful tree.

  2. Who the heck wants to camp in the heat of summer for a festival? Hotels with A/C are where it's at... we will never get a festival like The Reading Festival or Isle of Wight (English festivals) where you can camp, etc... First you have to have a place to host an event like this and second it has to be done during the fall or some other "cool" period... and we don't get those very often down here.

  3. Asteroid, 2004 XP-14 that is....XP-14 is a large hunk of rock about 400m-900m (1000 to 2700 feet) in diameter hurling in space and it's about to become very close friends with Earth. Looks like it will be at it's closest to Earth around July 3, 2006...and by closest I mean 0.0029 AU (astronomical units) close. A full astronomical unit equals about 92,955,807 miles so that makes .0029 AU about 269,571 miles. But you know they could be off a few thousand miles or so, I mean how accurate is an AU really? Don't ya think it could make for a very interesting 4th of July?

Oh, in other news, on June 19th, the U.S. Govt will be conducting an "exercise" and will be relocating 4000 federal employees of about 50 branches of government to some bunkers in the foothills of the Alleghenies for an undisclosed amout of time!

We now return you to your normally scheduled life!

  4. I thought he was saying "Llama a Mr. Norman" which means "to call" him, like for an appt to fix your leaky roof...

I personally liked the Blue Star Ointment commercials.... "Stops itching fast! Tether, ringworm, psoriasis.... stops itching fast!"

  5. The storefront for The Heights is on Durham on the backside corner of the Kroger Shopping Center on 11th way in the back. Go there during normal business hours and explain the situation to them.

  6. I think crime has been on the rise in the whole city as well as the past year in The Montrose. I just heard of a friend of a friend getting mugged near Rudyards just a couple of weeks ago! The first time I lived in The Montrose in '91, I felt safe enough to walk the neighboods at night, go out, etc. When I moved back in '04 I still felt safe up until about September of last year...today, not so safe.

  7. The turn out was larger than last years and while I applaud the Houston FreePress for putting on these events, they will never, ever be like the days of yesteryear.

I have a few photos, but nothing spectacular. I got some photos of some local art, artists and one of the bands. You can find them here!

I also have this video clip of

    ! link goes to YouTube

I would like to say that I listened to quite a few bands on the Numbers stage and these are the bands that impressed me...
