Ah c'mon, Pearland isn't that bad. Look at how much it has grown over the past ten years.
You mean the chinese tallow trees? Or master bland communities**?
Ok fine, it's not THAT bad. But I will be forever bitter that my office is down there and I have to drive from the city to the goat farm every day.
**I take complete credit for this term if no one else has thought of it, because I can't remember ever hearing it from anyone else

This project was never realistic. The area has no capacity for something like this. They are already closing shops and restaurants in the town center, no way another entire retail/food district was going to hold up. Let go of your 2007 economy pipe dreams people, Pearland is and always will be that muddy, tallow-filled area south of Houston.

I wish they would do a zip line too. That'd be a good time while trying to hold on to my bike.

Can we trade the panda funk-nasty for Po-boy Express? Now that's a damn good chain.

Good article in the Continental magazine this month on Hines. Gotta scroll down.

National Geographic (March 2010) has a nice page and a half on Houston Heights, sort of a walkable spot in the big city thing. They highlight 20 or so things in the area and have a little cartoon tourist map for them. Neat stuff.

^Nice toy. Will they make one for people who have driver's licenses?

I was thinking the exact opposite... to the point, if I wasn't already married, I'd consider asking that steak on a date.
I second that. I already eat but seeing that makes me want to eat again. I hope there are some cattle roaming around the heights, if so they are toast.

Those are beavers. And they're friendly, in my mind the most humbling and teriffic amenity of Hermann Park.
Haha, no. Nutria rat. Not beavers. Long rat tail, orange teeth versus flat and not orange. Invasive species, kill them! At least that's what we say in the marshes of Louisiana.

I guess a couch is better than that dishwasher I almost hit one time in the middle of 45 heading into Dallas.
I ran over a window one time.

Someone needs to redirect the Heights arsonist over to this thing. I bet he couldn't even do a lick of damage to this REAL structure...

Giant ferris wheel.

I'm betting the vacancy is intentional. That property has to be incredibly valuable, far more valuable than the measly rent given by the handful of companies that occupy the retail space. I bet that as soon as all their leases are up, they'll be forced to move elsewhere and that property will be torn down for redevelopment. You know, just like the property on Montrose between Dallas and Allen Parkway. It's far too valuable to do nothing with!
Is the Schlotzky's still open? That might be the only one left that I know of. Keep it! Or move it to the Heights, where one of the burned down lots are.

Never been to one of these - is it like Potbelly where one size fits all, or different sizes? If so does it compare to Quizno's or Subway? I like Quizno's, their wheat bread rocks and toastiness rules. A little more expensive, but there are coupons in the paper every Sunday and we're cheap bastards who use them every time.

I have an idea - stop getting other team's washed up backups and get a real QB. And quit looking like idiots in front of the national media by writing crap on your shoes about getting money you definitely didn't earn.

Some exciting news......
That just marks the 3rd BS pointless website related to this project. Never gonna happen.

So it's been done for a while, and when I run by it seems pretty full and active. Anyone know how full it is? Anyone live there?

So you see, it isn't that the car is ugly. Perish the thought! The problem was that the photographs didn't do justice to its true magnificence.
Here is what they consider a more flattering shot (they're wrong on that):
This is the Accord 'Tourer' that the rest of the world gets instead.
The first picture looks like an old Ford Tempo. Why is Honda going backwards in terms of style? The bottom pic is better, but I can't say for sure until I can see the front.

The apples at Caninos have sucked the past 2 weeks. What the hell.

And as far as the Hispanics "starting families earlier"... B.S..... all these hispanic teenagers are married? Do Hispanics, as a demographic class, also marry earlier than everyone else? If so, you can make that argument. But I seriously doubt the 2/3 group of pregnant Hispanic girls got married, then decided to start their family..........
End of article does say that roughtly 20% of all these teenagers were married... yea... gee... and what % of that 20% pulled a shotgun wedding before they actually popped the baby out...
I didn't say anything about starting families, just "starting earlier"...I was avoiding being blunt. I said that getting knocked up at age 14 is more a part of their culture than it is for others. Maybe it's more a result of their culture of bad parenting or not being educated, but whatever. Same result.

What are your thoughts on the interior? It looks cheap to me.
I like the seats and the door panel, but the dash styling reminds me of my 2005 Altima, nothing fancy, but it does have a few more buttons. I'd have to get in one to give a proper opinion though. Not a big fan of the minimalistic gauges, I like to see more stuff in there.

I guess.. also deserves the following title: Most Worthless Parenting City in the U.S.
Houston must take the title of having the most worthless parental guidance in the nation.... if it is up to the parents.
Yep. That's pretty much it. And I wouldn't discount the hispanic thing, that is true about their culture "starting earlier". And look at the stats in the article - 2/3 of the teen births were hispanics. Maybe they are bad parents because they're kids too.

2010 C70
Oh I like that a lot. Someone buy me one!

I love that interior, but I know that I am abnormally obsessed with the color orange. Looks like a fun truck. Not sure about the grill, but I might like it better than the previous F-150 one.

Did they finish them all? I think placing them in random public spaces all over the city would be fun, and make it some kind of way to connect different areas together with a president's head tour map. At least one should become an art car also.
