  1. omg i was just about to post that exact thing bobruss....love that shot of the two light rails passing each other...wow...please let light rail eventually make it to uptown...

there are rumors that the "dedicated bus lane" on Post Oak Blvd is really a precursor to the light rail eventually taking its place and i hope that is true.

    amazing video!

  2. i have been to both multiple times at this point and honestly i like both... i like the flavor of the meat patty at Shake Shack better but Hopdoddy has the awesome Terlingua Burger which i love...maybe because the Galleria offers so many options for food, the lines haven't been as long at Shake Shack and it doesn't feel as crowded as Hopdoddy (although admittedly i go to both at "off" hours to avoid crowds (lunch before noon or after 2pm or dinner at 530 or after 9pm etc)). While i like the fries better at Hopdoddy, I like the concretes (custard desserts) at Shake Shack better than the shakes at Hopdoddy.

but again, both have their merits! thankfully there is room enough in houston for both!

  3. I LOVED IT! The burgers have a great char-grilled flavor and one warning is they are a little on the small side so i definitely recommend getting the double! The concrete i got was the CupCake Crunch one that was made with a Fluff Bake Bar  (Cup|cake Crunch (vanilla frozen custard, fudge sauce, Fluff Bake Bar devil’s food cake with pretzel crunch and caramel buttercream)...OMG! I love love love this place being pretty much directly across the street from where i live...it's exactly what the Galleria needed in my opinion! I have been twice already and i have a feeling it will be a once to twice a week stop for me! (maybe more...) ;)

  5. Katherine Feser of the Houston Chronicle reported that Pinstripes, which features Italian and American cuisine along with bowling and bocce, is the first to join the Kirby Collection (3200 Kirby) in River Oaks and plans to open by late 2017. According to the Kirby Collection website, the space is described as a “vertical mixed-use development” that will be home to “the ultimate live-work-play community that meets 21st century demands and elevates the standard of urban living in Houston.” Keep an eye out for more announcements of trendy restaurant and bar tenants in the 61,600 square foot retail portion on this space.

I still don't know where this is.  Is the project actually located on S. Post Oak Lane? Thought it was near the 1700 block?

Anybody know what landmark bldgs are near the site? I went down S. Post Oak Lane where the Four Leaf Towers are, heading towards Woodway and I couldn't find it.

it is located directly behind Whole Foods and to the south of Hanover Tower (1750 Skylark Lane) which IS directly behind Whole Foods (and that is St Michael Catholic School/Church located on Sage in the photo behind the lot fyi)

I've been a bit underwhelmed by the ROD. Everything in it is way too overpriced. Even down the street in Highland Village I can get P.F. Changs during lunch once in a while, and occasionally save up for a $4 cupcake.. ROD almost seems to be just for rich folks from out of town.. hey maybe that's they're target demographic. I dunno.

yep that is obviously their target since the shops in this development also target that demographic...

    so it makes sense...

however, yes, because of that i am a frequent visitor to Hopdoddy, Amorino and iPic but that is about it haha!
