Is Tory a guest writer or a regular for the Chronicle?
It's an op/ed piece. Anybody can write one, and if it's good, they publish it.
I would like to know what an outsiders view of us isLockmart, let it go. Quit worry about what the world thinks of us. Only "we" can take care of "us".
You remind me of Roseanne Rogers asking Pamela Anderson "what she thinks about Houston".

Last time I ate there was 1994.

The Hyatt needs to do something. My out of town coworkers say the rooms are funky.
The lobby is still cool.
-
Agree. Any addition need to be WPA-esqe.

From Sunday's editorials:
BLOOMTOWN HOUSTON
Ours is an opportunity city with a style uniquely its own. Let's quit wishing we were something else and let Houston be Houston.

"Let Houston Be Houston" sure is close to my trademark: Houston - Be Yourself.
It's catching on.

Those would be cool if you build them.

Red Top morphed into Texas Burger, I think. We'd always hit the Friendswood one on the way to Freeport before we had 288.
-
Beach houses can sway when a couple of people walk up the stairs. No big deal.
We used the 3M Hurricanse prouduct on the windows in Galveston for those unexpected storms. It's tough stuff. We also have plywood that screws into the windows for the big one.
Those roll down shutters are nice, but they won't help much when the roof gets ripped off.
Red, are those real/functional shutters in the pic? They look like what I have in Housotn but mine are faux.
My parents live in Zone One, and they have precut boards you hook on the brick.

I think that's my car on the roof in the pic on the top left of the 1100 McKinney Parknig Garage.
Seriously.

If Galveston wanted to, it could turn the West End into another Padre Island.
Think what a tiny strip Padre is.
-
You forgot #4 - It's just too damn big. 3,948 dwellings? Scale it back, and elmininate the hotels.
And the golf course? Just another way to pollute the bay. Kill it.

They were pretty big at old Doobie High School. I think my buddy up in Buffalo still has their albums.
-
Technically, weren't they from Pearland?
My cousin had their drum sticks.
-
The stadium needs an upgrade and expansion. But I don't think it looks too bad.

We drove by the new high school on Mother's Day after eating at On The River. Yum.
The new school, not so yummy compared to the old one.
-
I know way too much about these ridiculous people!
Yep. Now I see how you became the Jenni Noodlehouse shill.
-
You and your "faux-towne" center.
I agree that Cypress desperately needs to be self-sufficient. Becuase living that far out and being dependent upon Houston is a self-imposed hardship.
-
Humble has a bit more history than Cypress Towne.
The concept of Cypress as a city is beyond ludicrous. That's something you're just going to have to live with, Mr. Football.
You sound like a broken record.

You know what they say about femme sans soulier.

They should drug test this skank every single day of her home confinement.

I mean for tourists.
Now renting a bike on the Seawall, that's for tourists.
Some of the best biking is downtown on the weekend since it's so dead.

What does it matter?
Washington does not sell New York. Boston does not sell New York.
New York sells New York.
And only Houston can sell Houston.
