ugh, I guess it's because I'm not a woman...but I see no need for Ann Taylors and Ann Taylor Lofts to be in the same place. I understand they may sell different things but they could have at least come up with a different name

nice info on the pdf....but when's that pretty little overpass going in?
-
I think Austin has a pretty good idea going with their new tollroads...you can pay by electronic tag, the cheapest...pay by cash, medium price...or you can just drive right on through the toll plaza w/o a tag and pay by mail, which costs a little more. I understand this would be bad for the Westpark as it is already congested, but I think it would work well with Beltway 8 and the Hardy Tollroad(sorry don't know if that one gets as bad as westpark, if so nix that idea)
-
well let's just pretend the new Embassy Suites is the hotel aspect of the pavilions...unless it gets scrapped as well
-
I noticed driving by the Marq-E the other day that they placed one of these "police satellite locations"...now all they need are all the stores that left already
And on the note of the actual topic, I'm not from the area, but I'm sure the bar was part of the bowling alley like others previously stated

What's the latest on this? Have they stopped going vertical?
wikipedia usually keeps a good update on the building status....but the last update was October 24 at 156 stories and 585.7m tall, but a builder had confirmed it would be at least 700m tall, so it probably just needs to be updated
-
I hope they just own the land....It's a cool building out in the suburbs, but in town it's getting a little old...especially when 2727 Kirby is going to shadow one of them soon

The galleria has ads for Emirates Airlines on their glass elevators that cover the glass sections....I wonder if the elevator passengers can still see through the windows?
-
One of my biggest things is the people that drive in the HOV lanes with only one person...this for me mainly applies to the Katy Freeway Eastbound near Hwy 6 where the lanes lack any barriers from the mainlanes and they have the choice of merging with the main traffic or continuing on the HOV...over half the people merging are single-passenger cars...UGH

Rule #925: Don't buy anything from stores with fictitious origin stories.
haha yeah that's probably a good one to follow...and JJ18 it's actually a store targeted for 22-35 year olds...kinda like the banana republic of the abercrombie company
-
just a little off topic...but I'm really pissed they redid the exhaust vent for the bread factory on washington and studemont...every time I'd drive by there I'd make myself look like an idiot by rolling down my window for a whiff. My friend told me they did it because residents at the apartments across the street were complaining...How can you complain about fresh bread 24/7?!?!?
-
The Banana Republic is already there...they're adding a Banana Petites and GapBody in the "old" Forth and Towne space...and btw where is this Ruehl going and when(I've heard for the past two years that it was coming to the galleria)? The one in Dallas was awesome...didn't really care for the clothes but the store itself was a really neat concept

Lame. It looks too much like the Hobby Center.
ummm...that is the Hobby Center...I was using it as a reference
-
nothing beats the big bows and Christmas lights that go up in Highland Village a few days before Halloween...I think they put them up a day earlier every year
-
just drove by today and they have a new sign up with an awesome rendering!!! I'd say it looks a little like the hobby center with the glass front, but with a curved front instead of an angle

even if the victim knew the killer, this will probably be the final nail in the coffin for that mall....or at least sales will be way down for the holidays there

You don't understand. Saving money is "ghetto". Conspicuous consumption is "high class". Rich people waste all their money. That's how they got so rich, see?
oooh maybe I should apply for another credit card then
-
Garden Ridge has some pretty good deals as well, plus you could even go right now if you wanted to! (open 24hrs a day until Sunday)
-
Why do people think stores like these are "ghetto"?!? I suppose it's a much better idea to buy full price from stores like Macy's and Dillards than to go to Palais Royal or Bealls and save money...it's not like the suburban mom's should really care if their newly purchased blouse is "last season"
-
This place will also make a good sound barrier for the neighborhood behind it...and on another note I think the term "luxury apartment" should no longer exist...it's quite humorous to see what crap-complexes they put that title on
-
call me weird but I would like to see advertisements on the metro rail and buses...I kinda think of it as being synonymous with big-city life. (Plus the added income could help pay for new bus stops or something of that nature)
-
This place has gone up so quickly! It also crossed my mind that there will probably be a light rail station on Richmond near Kirby...would this be a practical distance to walk from Richmond to the new West Ave center?
-
haha ricco I was thinking the same thing!

I think the photos over at the official site stop in April. It's a shame since the actual structure started coming into view around August/September. Here is a photo of it from this morning.
Awesome Picture! I can't wait to see how the structure beyond the garage part goes up.

I can't wait to see a site plan for the new tower and mcdonald's...it's driving me nuts trying to understand how they'll fit both on such a tiny plot of land...I would suggest just moving the mcdonalds over to the post oak and west loop intersection...but I'm sure all those business-folk from across the street wouldn't want to walk and extra block to get their imported beef
